I shall have to consider the TOD....although I liked DR DRUXY's story very much.

A friend at church died a couple of days ago, leaving behind his wife and five daughters. His last night included a visit from some Star Wars fans. Here’s the story

http://www.kens5.com/mobile/article/life/terminally-ill-veteran-gets-star-wars-surprise-in-final-hours/273-505364564

I'm glad his family has this good memory to cherish...

LOL!

I haven't been following figure skating as closely as I used to, but watched last night.  She was out-skated and could have done something with her hair.  Looking forward to the Olympics.

I just listened to the sample songs for LEVI on the Kritzerland website.

Looking forward to hearing the entire score.

Unlike so many shows in recent years (including HAMILTON), this sounds like my kind of musical (i.e. one where you leave the theater actually humming the songs).

AW is an alternate to the US Olympic Team....she came in 4th last night and is "furious" at the judges who scored her.....

Our newspaper says it's on NBC, so I'm going to tune in at 8 and see what's what.

I woke up at 2:30 this morning, not good for my jet lag and removing my ability to fight off a cold.  So far it isn't bad though.

I am a grumpy bear this morning. Last night the pain in my tooth became worse and despite taking painkillers all day I had a terrible time sleeping. The tooth HURTS. I phoned the dentist on his emergency number. He's out of town, but may be back later today. We're trying to work something out. I'm waiting for him to call back. I'm also not very coherent.

TOD:

If I could speak French more fluently, I’d love to have a few dozen oysters and then dinner with Balzac. He may not be my absolute favorite but he could enjoy a great dinner with the best of them.

Somehow I think that limited French is not the primary issue.

I'm wondering if the dealership repaired Vixdad's car, but forgot to turn off the CHECK ENGINE light.

In any case, I'm glad it's now fixed and hope it stays that way!

Oh, and don't take water with Sambucol. Just let the tablet dissolve in your mouth. It dissolves quickly and tastes fine.

I futzed and finessed yesterday's writing - adding a few things to flesh them out, but I was happy with it.  I wrote about a page of new material during the futzing and finessing and that will be it until I get home from the Levi finessing.  Then I'll try to write at least seven or eight pages.

T.O.D.

Actually, I did have the opportunity to meet the one author I would have wanted to meet.  In fact, he was a guest in my home.

I'm talking about W.R. Burnett, author of LITTLE CAESAR, HIGH SIERRA, THE ASPHALT JUNGLE, etc.

Back in the 1970s, when I was writing my film-oriented books, I did a phone interview with him on, I believe, HIGH SIERRA.  He mentioned that he hadn't seen LITTLE CAESAR and the original SCARFACE, another film he'd written, for years.  I happened to have 16mm prints of both films, so I invited to come to my home for a screening.  He brought his son, and it was a very memorable evening.

Nice!
