Well, you've read the notes, the notes were up and down, and now it is time for you to post until the up and down cows come home.

Today, my family is coming to my place for our weekly family dinner.  I need to re-declutter my house before they come over.  They're not coming until 4:00 pm, so I have some time.

It was chilly last night, so Annabelle took up 90% of my bed.  She has a knack.  Thatch gave me 10% by either sleeping on me or next to me.

I honestly do not think the new elevator will take six weeks, and I hope I'm right.  The main problems for me will be the walk up and down stairs, carrying things up and down them, and my inability to get to the basement.  Another issue will be every time Annabelle gets out and I have to chase her down.

I must tidy the apartment, take care of the litter, and vacuum.  I need to do laundry soon, today, tomorrow, or Monday, depending on my enthusiasm for accomplishing it, since I want to do all the sheets and towels jammed under the bookshelves as well.  It will be big day of labor.

Another Saturday.  But this one would be the real thing.  An authentic Saturday.  Accept no substitutes.

I need to run at least one errand this morning, and that would be:  pick up cat food.

A most critical errand.  God forbid one forgets this one.  It’s the big one.

T.O.D.

Actually, I did have the opportunity to meet the one author I would have wanted to meet.  In fact, he was a guest in my home.

I'm talking about W.R. Burnett, author of LITTLE CAESAR, HIGH SIERRA, THE ASPHALT JUNGLE, etc.

Back in the 1970s, when I was writing my film-oriented books, I did a phone interview with him on, I believe, HIGH SIERRA.  He mentioned that he hadn't seen LITTLE CAESAR and the original SCARFACE, another film he'd written, for years.  I happened to have 16mm prints of both films, so I invited to come to my home for a screening.  He brought his son, and it was a very memorable evening.

A friend at church died a couple of days ago, leaving behind his wife and five daughters. His last night included a visit from some Star Wars fans. Here’s the story

TOD:

If I could speak French more fluently, I’d love to have a few dozen oysters and then dinner with Balzac. He may not be my absolute favorite but he could enjoy a great dinner with the best of them.

Saturday morning greetings!  Another cold, clear day here in SW Ohio.  We've already had 2 packages delivered, one for Rob and one for Mary Linda.  Richard and I are also expecting packages, so it's a real "Wells Fargo Wagon" day in our household.
