Hi, Tom.

I am awake for the moment.  I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow afternoon.

I hope goes well!

So, my debit card has points.  The points are good for free stuff from their on-line rewards site, not things like airline miles.  The last time I really used my points was when I got my first Kindle (I'm now on my 3rd, but I still have my 2nd).

I had some things in my wish list, but nothing that I really wanted.  A few weeks ago, I noticed that the points could be redeemed for gift cards from Best Buy!  Finally, something that I could actually use!

This weekend, I received the physical cards in the mail and tonight I looked around Best Buy's website and decided to get an 8TB (that's terabyte!) external hard drive.  Do I actually need an 8TB external hard drive?  Not really...but I'll probably never have to get another external hard drive ever.

The full price was $300, they had it on sale for $160, and I had $150 in gift cards from redeeming my debit card points AND an additional $30 Best Buy gift card from my niece.  It cost me NOTHING! :D I LOVE it when that happens!

Also, I didn't have to order it and wait for it to be shipped.  The local Best Buy had it in stock.  I ordered it on-line to have it picked up.  I left work and it was waiting for me.  I just got it and left.  Pretty cool system. :)

I hate to sound stupid but what exactly is an external hard drive?
