DR JANE I was planning on getting out tomorrow, so I was just trying the car.....it will probably start then when it gets above 20 degrees.

When we lived in New Jersey Keith had to cover the engine in his car on cold nights or it wouldn't start in the morning.

I've never had that experience...most fortunately.

Well, the new (official) CD release of Donnybrook! has arrived in Tumwater!

Any difference in sound quality from the previous Donnybrook release?

It's weird to me that Doris Day filmed MIDNIGHT LACE in London, but there are no shots of her or any of the other principal cast actually IN England.....  I would guess they were there and that Rex Harrison could do it because he was doing MY FAIR LADY in London at the time it was filmed.

When I was younger, I watched Another World. There was a character who drove me crazy. She was an irritating worry-wort. I later found out the actress was Kathleen Widdoes, highly regarded stage actress.

I’m now watching Widdoes as Beatrice in A 1972 version of Much Ado About Nothing. Sam Waterston is Benedick. Douglas Watson, Mac from Another World, is also on hand. All are wonderful.

Futzed and finessed and wrote one new page, then went and had a bacon cheeseburger and a salad at Marie Callendar's.  Now I'm back, wrote five more pages, and will two two more in a little while, then take a break, and that will leave me seven to do later tonight.  Oh, and I crossed page two hundred.  And we had one miraculous miracle today that does solve at least some of the problems.

This is interesting.  Such a beautiful city and they didn't take advantage of it.

I don't remember if I had the previous (unofficial) CD/MP3 release.  If I did, I don't remember the quality.  This is pretty good, but it sounds a little distorted when it gets louder, like they raised the volume a bit too loud when they worked on the audio files.  It isn't bad, but it's a bit noticeable.  It isn't bothering me...yet. ;)

Nice picture!  A little dark (unavoidable in the situation, I know), but nice. :)

We got lucky today and the rain arrived late giving us time for a nice walk this afternoon.  I gambled we would be safe and did not wear a rain jacket which is not as comfortable as my lightweight but warmish coat.

When I left for lunch, I was thinking about walking to a place that's just down the street, but it was a little chilly (I was wearing a light jacket), so I decided to drive.  Just as I started my car, my low fuel light came on, so I decided to go to Costco to get gas and have lunch at Taco Del Mar instead (it's pretty close to Costco).  While I was eating, it started raining.  I was very glad that I didn't walk.  I would've been drenched walking back to work! :P

There is nothing "official" about the Donnybrook release.  It's from the UK where they are taking advantage of the fifty-year copyright rule for stuff pre 1964.  It's a vinyl transfer, which is why there's distortion - because that company is inept at this stuff.  Compare their Expresso Bongo to ours.

Well, I need to leave.  I got a call from my niece asking if I could get my sister some Dimetapp (she's got a pretty bad cold), so I'm off to Costco again.  Then, I'll go right to the theater for rehearsal.

Until later.
