Now I am in the mood for a chunky peanut butter sandwich with apricot preserves.  If I could find plum preserves I would have that.

TOD:

I rarely have bread at the house, but in late summer I love to make an open-faced tomato sandwich on sourdough with a little mayo, fresh dill and the best tomato you can find.

When I eat a sandwich out, I usually prefer chicken salad, and I, too, am a purist. Nothing sweet like grapes, chutney, raisins or sugar in it. I had a chicken salad sandwich when I was in the hospital recently. All it was was chicken and mayo. But the mayo was so sweet (probably Helmann's) and there was so much of it that I couldn't eat it.

I'm also fond of ham and Swiss on rye or sourdough with butter on the bread and a little onion (pickled is better).

I almost had a stroke at the pharmacy.  My ophthalmologist's two prescriptions, with my copays, comes to around $20.  In December he added one more, which I picked up today.  With my copay, the drug was $131.00.  I just sent him a message informing him that I would not be purchasing it again.

I've been listening to the OBC of Mack and Mabel. What a good score!

You did not have to purchase it today.  Hopefully it will be worth the cost and you will find it helpful.  With luck your ophthalmologist will have samples you can use, or prescribe a drug that is as effective & costs less.

My medications usually cost more at the beginning of the year and go down in cost as the year progresses and I use my deductible.

I make egg salad sandwiches at home and order them out.  I like Hellman's but know what DR John is talking about.  I gag when it seems the salad is more mayo than egg.

I like a sandwich made with Grillers which is a soy pattie.  I use may, avocado, tomato, and cabbage instead of lettuce.  When Keith grew Wala Wala sweet onions I also added sliced, fresh from the garden, onions.

The six weeks we lived in hotels during our move here it began to get difficult eating protein & I got tired of eating egg salad.

There is a lunch place near us we like and I did eat their chicken salad sandwich with red onion, pineapple, almonds, cranberries, mixed with our herbed mayo.  I suppose DR John would not like it but we thought it was exceptional.

Futzed and finessed most of yesterday's writing, then went and did the stuff I needed to do, then came home and finished futzing and finessing and I've written a little over one new page.

Yes, I was just going to say that's been my experience once my annual deductible is used up.

I've done a little over three pages.  Now I'll get ready to visit Richard Sherman - I'll try to do one more page, then I can do three more when I get back, and then seven more after dinner.  After tonight, I think I'll be in the last fifty pages or so.

T.O.D.

Usually at home I will make either tuna salad or egg salad.
When I go out to eat, my sandwich choice is usually a clubhouse or a Reuben.

I was pleased BK and I could get together yesterday. I've had so many soft-food days lately, which is OK when I'm home, but when I go out to one of my favorite eateries I want to be able to have my favorites! I have a break of a couple weeks before we start the next round of dental work.

The two guys at the next table were television writers and that's all they talked about. When I lived in the DC area, I'd go out to lunch and the people around me--all total strangers--would be having conversations that could have some out of the mouths of my coworkers and I. It was a bit eerie at times. Here in LA, the same thing happens, but of course it's Hollywood talk. Much of the conversation from the guys yesterday was very similar to what BK and I talk about.

They were having breakfast and Bruce and I both kept drooling over their food. It looked really good! I'll have to have breakfast there one day; I always opt for lunch.

You could certainly tell they enjoy what they do.
