Of course, the humorous thing is that we have 120 posts by five o'clock California time.  So, you see, I am spoiled now, and we must have MORE posts, and then MORE posts, we must not STOP, we must RISE, RISE, RISE, RISE - I'll drink to that.  And let me tell you, tomorrow is going to be amazing - you will not want to log off your computer once during the day and night.

Just got home after a 12 hour plus day at work, No lunch break. No coffee break only a dentist break. And what is the first thing I do when I get home. I open the computer and hotlink to Haines His Way.

I'm an addict!

DR Sarah,

Tell Paulie I like his lyrics, and I miss his posts. He's a funny guy. But sentimental, too. Was he really singing Buona Sarah?

Such lovely songs everyone has chosen today. I have nothing more to add, except perhaps some hymns.

Top of the Evening to ya’ll!

I read the board this morning but didn’t have time to post anything.

I have to say I liked the picture of the singing bird.  That almost sounds like an Indian name.  But all the talk about birds and posting till the cows come home made me smile because it made me remember a little ditty from when I was a kid----

Little Birdy in the sky,
Why’d you do that in my eye?
Aren’t you glad that COWS can’t fly?

Well, I give up on the smileys for tonight at least.  I’ve tried and tried to post one (not the ones on this board but on another board I found that had a bunch of them) but can’t make it do it.  Sigh.  Why does everything have to be so hard??  What is wrong with cut and paste?

As far as inspirational song–it depends on what has occurred.  Right now, I would have to say I like “Not To Far From Here”.   I first heard it on Mr. C’s Live CD and really like it.

Not a big post tonight.  I feel tired and grumpy and kinda like I’m coming down with something–like the FLU.  It couldn’t have anything to do with that FLU shot from yesterday, could it??

Speaking of Sleeping Beauty, I beg your pardons but I think I'm going to go and practice for the part.  I think I can nail the sleep half of it if I practice real hard tonight.

Have a pleasant evening.

D

We are very almost on our way!  I was kind of expecting delays all day, with too much to get done at the last minute.

I'm not exactly sure what it means, however, that while I was in the shower, cleaning up after cleaning house, what melody should I find myself humming but that of "Anatevka."  Strange, to be sure.  Or at least warped.

Maya, I was searching eBay (as is my wont) and I just happened to come across these two Goth-inspired dolls and I thought of you and your (not on purpose?) Goth-inspired picture!

One is a Goth Raggedy Ann and the other is a Goth Snowman called "Omen Snowman."  They're original dolls (by the same seller) and the stories that accompany the listings are quite original.  The prices are both around $100 right now, so they're really for "collectors."  The details in the pictures are clear!  Here are the links:

and

Check them out!

Danise, I learned this as a kid, too, but with some slight variations:

(spoken in rhythm)
Birdie, birdie in the sky,
Please don't turdy in my eye!
(spoken as an aside)
Aren't you glad ELEPHANTS can't fly?

I'm finally home.  Oh, how I do love that Leslie Parrish.  Just LOOK at her.  Hubba hubba.  Now I can finally make with the smileys, which I can't do from work.

Later, perhaps I'll post some more photos for your visual delectation.

A last post before bed. I hope the reviews are good for both Wicked and Bounce. I could probably look at some of them now but I'll wait until tomorrow morning.

If Best Friends Aly and Danielle, and myself, are bored tomorrow night, we might go candy-searching like we did two years ago: Jean jacket and Yankees hat, with "GO YANKEES! NY RULES!" written on our faces, and baseballs in hand. We have a lot of NYers in our neighborhood, and they go nuts and give away TONS of sugar.

Off to read Sir Gawain, and then fall fast asleep. I'm still not used to DST! Bonsoir!

DR Dan: I'll tell Paulie that y'all miss him. And as for the Buona Sarah part...some things are a bit too weird and stupid to try to explain.

DR Mark when talking about the WYSIWYG button wrote:
Quote
Yes. That's really what it stands for. And why in the world would you go through all the trouble to ADD the code through WYSIWYG and then immediately delete the code immediately after???

You totally misunderstood what I meant.
The codes appear IN MY MESSAGE. I'll show you.
I click on WYSIWYG, and I change the fonts and colors. But when I press submit, the codes are showing in my message.

I "previewed" and saw which codes appeared.  And THAT IS WHAT I DELETED.

Here is an example:

I am now using Times New Roman, size 4
font.

Now I am using Georgia size 5 font.

My question is why are these codes appearing.

In my message box this appears first:font="Times New Roman"][/font

If I erase this then everything appears as normal (the codes don't show).

Does this make any sense? Am i choosing fonts and colors that don't exist?  Thanks (sorry I guess this should be on the technical board, i apologize). I will post it there as well. But if anyone has any idea feel free to email me, thanks.

If it's alright with the DRs, here is a picture of three people about to go and be inspired by the music of JERRY HERMAN:

(from left to right: Roseanne Lea Irwin - vocal coach at Carnegie-Mellon University, you know who is in the middle and Dixie Tymitz - actress, storyteller and sometime singing partner to the man in the middle).

DR td, I really enjoyed the picture!  ;) Thank you!

Songs of inspiration:
I've always enjoyed "No One is Alone" and "If You Believe." Also, this is not inspirational; it's more of a let's-put-things-in-perspective song, but it really speaks to me: "Now and Then" from The Maury Yeston Songbook.

To those who like David Boreanaz and ANGEL - I have some fun audio and video of David, as he was often my class partner in college during our freshman and sophmore years in college... A great guy then and even more so now...

Craig, that is what I would imagine of David B.  Despite his portrayal of a vampire (soulful, though), he comes across as a down to earth, loving kind of guy.  Hey, he has a couple of dogs, a beautiful wife and a nearly newborn baby, to paraphrase Stephen Sondheim:  "What more could he need?"

I'm not sure that's a true story about Oscar Hammerstein sending Mary Martin those words and her having them put into the show after he died. For one thing, he died 9 months after THE SOUND OF MUSIC opened, and the cast album with those words on it came out much sooner than that. But it is a sweet story, if somewhat apocryphal.

Bea Benedaret was the original voice of Betty Rubble on THE FLINTSTONES. She was also Lucille Ball's first choice for Ethel Mertz in I LOVE LUCY.

WICKED's reviews (from the bits and pieces that I've read) have been mostly middle of the line to just plain old negative. I didn't even bother to finish reading most of them. I totally avoided Mr. Brantley's.

You all know how I feel about the show...I love it...and I agree with BK: This is Mr. Schwartz's best work in YEARS. I knew that people would harp on Mr. Eugene Lee's set (they always hate his stuff for some reason--probably because it's big), but I really can't understand why they seemed to dislike the show so much. It's the first real original musical that has any kind of story worth telling in quite a while. I don't understand critics. Never have, never will. Let's hope word of mouth has gotten out in enough time to keep it afloat.

I did it. I read Brantley's review. It wasn't as horrible as the folks on ATC were implying it was. He practically handed Kristi her next Tony, but he certainly didn't pan the rest of the show, either. Perhaps I may have skipped something inadvertently, or maybe I'm being a ridiculous optimist, but I didn't think it was as bad as maybe it could have been. Hmm...
