Thanks, John G!

Alicia Keys once did a commercial for music speakers where she talked about how rough the surrounding area was over to 11th and 12th Avenues while she was growing up.  (I'm paraphrasing a bit, but it was something like having street gangs, gun shots and pestilence in one direction, the lights of Broadway in the other direction.)

Oh my.  Thank goodness it is a nice area now.

Annabelle has been working my last nerve this morning.  She continually jumps on the table and knocks things to the floor.  She dropped a big jar of her favorite kitty party mix pff the table and into Thatch's water bowl, and I had a big cleanup job.  When I finished, I caught her pushing it to the table's edge again.  She's determined tp wreak havoc this morning, so she jumps back up every time I set her down.

Speaking of jumping, Thatch is finally honing his skills.  He can now jump from the baseboard of my bed to the top of the cat tree.

Have you moved the party mix to a safer location?

Sounds like cats. Have fun.

Has anyone besides George seen Call Me By Your Name? There’s a puzzling spoiler alert question I want to ask (actually two) that I want to ask in a personal message in case others want to see it.

I also had a check-up scheduled this morning, however, my doctor cancelled as she is sick.  Keith is at his appointment since we see different doctors at the same time.

Now I will have to go another day and he will have to wait for me to return with the car unless he drops me off and goes to the gym early.

Guess your doctor’s taking advantage of Super Sick Monday.

Interesting to hear that word today:  There's an article in today's Times that when men complain about illnesses, they tend not to call them "complaints," but "updates" to their family about what's going on.  But their wives and girlfriends disagree.

I'm having trouble linking the article, but this is from the article'

"I, personally, do not complain much when I get sick. It’s true that I provide for the people around me running updates about the type and quality of my illness, the intensity and character of its effects, the particular sounds of the cough, the volumes and colors of phlegm discharge and my own feelings about all of the above. But these communiqués, whether sent as text messages or shouted at my girlfriend from across the apartment, are useful news bulletins, provided in the spirit of CDC alerts. They’re not complaints. Me? I don’t complain. I update."

Jane - yes, our neighborhood is alternately known as "Hell's Kitchen" and "Clinton."  By some point in the 1990's, the area had become an extremely desirable and pricy area, but for a long time before that, it was not a desrable area at all.

It was very nice when I was there 😊

LOL, if you mean when you were here with the HHW group, yes, the neighborhood had gotten better, cleaner and more costly by then.

But I like the idea that everything was nice when you came here!

Yes, with the wonderful HHW walk.

I will have to think about the TOD.  In the meantime for the amusement of the populace, I will post part of the photo of my first grade class from Newby Elementary School.....teacher Mrs. Julia Doughty.

I am wearing my favorite STRIPED shirt....and my belt is obviously too long for my waist.

My mom used to say something that sounded like that:  I'm not heavy.  I'm just too short for my weight.

Strange, strange morning. A coworker watched from the window as someone  stole the spare tire off the back of her Jeep.

:o Did she call the police?
