I will have to think about the TOD.  In the meantime for the amusement of the populace, I will post part of the photo of my first grade class from Newby Elementary School.....teacher Mrs. Julia Doughty.

I am wearing my favorite STRIPED shirt....and my belt is obviously too long for my waist.

My mom used to say something that sounded like that:  I'm not heavy.  I'm just too short for my weight.

I'm in shape...round is a shape! ;)

Excellent!  I'll tell my mom that one!

Has anyone besides George seen Call Me By Your Name? There’s a puzzling spoiler alert question I want to ask (actually two) that I want to ask in a personal message in case others want to see it.

Replied.

I didn't make it up.  I don't remember where I heard it, but I like it, too!

Is this the same complaint as before?

Interesting to hear that word today:  There's an article in today's Times that when men complain about illnesses, they tend not to call them "complaints," but "updates" to their family about what's going on.  But their wives and girlfriends disagree.

I'm having trouble linking the article, but this is from the article'

"I, personally, do not complain much when I get sick. It’s true that I provide for the people around me running updates about the type and quality of my illness, the intensity and character of its effects, the particular sounds of the cough, the volumes and colors of phlegm discharge and my own feelings about all of the above. But these communiqués, whether sent as text messages or shouted at my girlfriend from across the apartment, are useful news bulletins, provided in the spirit of CDC alerts. They’re not complaints. Me? I don’t complain. I update."

;D

I need to remember to call it updates.  I normally say I am just stating facts, not complaining.

Jane - yes, our neighborhood is alternately known as "Hell's Kitchen" and "Clinton."  By some point in the 1990's, the area had become an extremely desirable and pricy area, but for a long time before that, it was not a desrable area at all.

It was very nice when I was there 😊

LOL, if you mean when you were here with the HHW group, yes, the neighborhood had gotten better, cleaner and more costly by then.

But I like the idea that everything was nice when you came here!

tune of MAME

You keep the pushers off of our street
Jane!
You make our grimy neighborhood neat
Jane!
You made the price of rentals go climbing til they’re totally insane
There’s been some happy switchin’ here
You brought the hip and rich in here
It don’t feel like Hell’s Kitchen here
Jane!

:D 💙😊

Yes, with the wonderful HHW walk.

I could see the happy emoticons on Skip's computer.  So his computer was one of the "Guests" a few minutes ago.  :)

No chance of him joining in for real?

It's a funny article.  I think (or at least hope?) the writer of the article knows how silly it sounds.

Jane - I think it may be that it's sometimes hard to keep up.  I've never found it a problem to just say I'm E&T for a while and just jump right back in even if I've missed stuff - but then I don't really feel the appeal of Facebook (except I like that it works great for keeping up on family events with my Scranton family), and he loves it.

How weird, I can see the moving emoticons fine, but having trouble seeing the stationery ones - they often come out as little boxes.

I hate to update the computer, since have old versions of programs that became worse as they got updated.  (imovie and garageband are examples, but there are others.)

Another thing in the posts today that is yet another coincidence for the new book.  Given the nature of said book, mighty weird.

Picked up packages, and shall now continue to proof until I'm through, at which point I'll have a conversation with Muse Margaret.

Is this a teaser to force even those of us who are reading-book-challenged to read?  or will info be forthcoming?

I also had a check-up scheduled this morning, however, my doctor cancelled as she is sick.  Keith is at his appointment since we see different doctors at the same time.

Now I will have to go another day and he will have to wait for me to return with the car unless he drops me off and goes to the gym early.

Guess your doctor’s taking advantage of Super Sick Monday.

I swear I never heard "Super Sick Monday" until last night.  (I knew about the syndrome, of course, but not the term.)

I swear these things get made up, coined, said on TV once, and go round-the-world viral within hours.

I swear.

Word is Dad is headed back to the ER. It might be a stomach virus that’s been bothering him. Don’t exactly know.

I hope it's not the flu!

My doctor's appointment on Feb. 20 was cancelled by my HMO and I had to reschedule.  My new appointment is March 26!  Thank God it's nothing serious.

Dad is in the hospital with pressure ulcers, which I’m told are akin to bed sores. He will not be going home until home health care is in place. In the meantime, he may go to either a nursing home or rehab place.

How Mom will react to all of this is beyond me.

My folks were at first resistant to home health care, which meant someone always being around (at least much of the day), but they've grown to really take comfort in it.
