I remember darling elmore had a problem with one of the Hofstetter books and how I wrote Furball - but all of Furball's cat behavior is strictly based on stuff cat owner friends told me, so while it may seem far-fetched in that one book, it in fact was based on fact - and reading about elmore's cat adventures, perhaps he's come to realize that cats do these things :)

Frontier Airlines has a flight to LaGuardia for $75. I wanna go.

How can they afford that? Is the trip back also the same price?

It was $125 for the return, but I only looked at Monday, which may be higher.

Elmore, have you read In the Great Green Room? It’s a bio of Margaret Wise Brown, who wrote Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny.

It details a lot of her research on what kids like in kids books. Might give you a foundation for the Adventures of Annabelle and Thatch.

And even if it doesn’t, it was a fascinating read.

It is quite windy here, which made for a disappointing Birding Monday.

I have to get my mental energy up for this laundry day.  I'm sure it's the weight of the damp towels that concerns my walking down four flights with them under one arm.  Sooner begun, sooner finished, I guess.

I thought they are almost done with the elevator.  Is there anyway you can wait until then, or just do one load and leave the rest?

Never mind, obviously my question is too late.

Laura, grasshopper pie was a favorite of mine as a kid. I had it for by birthday for a couple of years instead of cake. I think I was 10 or 11.

I was never a fan of it.  Years ago I made a chocolate cheesecake that had a little creme de menthe that was very tasty.  I gave some to the neighbors and they liked it, even asked for the recipe.  When I got to the creme de menthe part I had an "OH NO" moment and had to apologize to the Mormon neighbor as I handed her the recipe.

Shoo-Fly Pie, anyone?

I used to buy small ones from an Amish bakery.  I could only eat a little at a time as they are very sweet.  I preferred the molasses bread or cake.

Four people, including a 6-year-old boy, were shot outside a San Antonio version of Vixmom’s favorite, Texas Roadhouse. Scary.

The ceiling in the laundry room has collapsed and I suspect it's part of yesterday's disaster.  I saw Val, who says he doesn't think this is part of my mess, and he told me that the bathroom ceiling in Apt. 2C collapsed last night.  I feel like Typhoid Mary.

Do not feel bad. We all make mistakes. But should we call you Mary Elmore from now on?

Monday afternoon greetings!  After 3 days of laying around like a sick person, I'm trying to rejoin the human race today.  Thanks for the vibes - I think they're helping...

Good news.

Keith returned to the gym today but he still sounds pretty bad.

I got lucky and the roads were fine this morning.  The parking lot at the doctor's office would have been slippery had they not salted it.

Several weeks ago, Val told me the elevator would be finished by the end of that week.  Last week one of the elevator crew told me they would finish up by Feb. 23.  The management just said Jan. 15-Feb. 28.  As of today, it's not finished.

Nope.  I'll look into it.

I'm not even sure the adventures of Annabelle and Thatch is a children's book!  I don't know what to do with it except amuse myself and  few friends.

I think on the whole, especially for a non cat person, you have captured the cat behavior rather well.  Question though, when you named Furball were you thinking of a cute little ball of fur kitten?

What I think of when I see the name is that horrible feeling of being woken from a dead sleep to the horrid sound of the cats upchucking fur balls.  If I was super fast, and very lucky, I could get something under the cat in time so I did not have to clean the bed or carpet. ;D

DR elmore I am very sorry the ceilings have collapsed.

My neighbor in 2C posted three photos on Facebook.  Looks just like my bathroom when the ceiling fell in on March 14, 2014.  I remember the date because I was in such terrible physical shape at the time and I could not believe the added misery.

DR JohnG --  Regarding Chess:  I didn't mind the book.  I've never seen Chess before so I didn't know about the changes that were made.  I agree that the score is great.

Someone on All That Chat said the book revisions spell out that Raul Esparza's character is "bipolar" - was that what you heard, too?

(if so, it somehow feels like the FOLLIES development over the years that Sally is mentally ill, "Losing her Mind" literally from the show's get-go)

Yes, the girlfriend keeps asking is he's taken his medicine.  At one point he mimed taking it and instantly calmed down.

Maybe the fares are telling you that you should fly to New York and not go back until the fares are lower?

It is if you have never experienced real furballs ;D  When I read the books I work at picturing the cat curled up into a ball of fur :)

I was extremely good at brushing all the cats every day, or every other day, and giving them furball treatments to reduce the problem.

Just wait until your kittens are cats DR elmore ;)

I've just been informed that the audio edition of my novel, DARK CHASM, is now available for download via audible.com, Amazon and, in a day or two, iTunes.  Ellery Truesdell does a terrific job in bringing my "JAWS in a cave"-like tale of terror to life.  Please take a listen.

Yes, my cell phone has an alarm.  No, I didn't use it because i had never forgotten about the tub before.  This wasn't my first time at the rodeo. It's good advice and i will use it in the future.
