Here is a Great American Dance Machine special recreating all kinds of brilliant choreography - pay special attention to the first number by Joe Layton, one of my all-time favorites, although as nice as Wayne Cilento is, this number was designed specifically for my pal Gene Castle and his was one of the greatest dancing performances I've ever seen.  The other stuff is fun, but at around the forty-minute mark you'll get to the clog and grog dance from Walking Happy - Danny Daniels.  Watch the inventiveness of this number - it's breathtaking and very funny at times - just brilliant and no one today has any idea how to do anything like it.

Danny Daniels also did the choreography for the opening number (Anything Goes) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  And he did the great number done on the Tonys from The Tap Dance Kid - watch it and marvel.

Well, I need to go to bed now.  I'm getting up early to take my car in for servicing, and I want to get some sleep.

Have a good day, all!

My favorite parts of the Oscars was James Ivory’s win and having Edi show up.

In 1998, the Gay Mem's Health Crisis produced my Cole Porter reconstruction Jubilee, directed by Herb Ross, a horrid queen, and choreographed by Danny Daniels, who was such a kind gentleman.  I have his phone number in my address book.  I always wanted to call him, just to chat, but I feared I'd sound like nothing more than a gushing fan, so I never did.

Today, after I tidy up, I have to hit the bank and post a few bills.  Then I'm back to Me and My Girl.

My favorite parts of the Oscars were Allison Janney winning, and James Ivory winning.  I, also really liked both of their acceptance speeches.

TOD

Favorite moment:  Eva Marie Saint, tops.  93, and not looking, acting, or sounding a day over [fill in your favorite youthful age here].  Completely stunning.  (Had to ketchup with this one on the web after everything was over.)

Edit:  Want to ketchup with Agnes Varda today, too.

Worst:  the couple of songs I saw.  And heard.  Horrible.
