I have avoided Talkin' Broadway and that other ATC board for years just because of the idiots running it....and some of the idiots that spend their lives in one or both places.....

Jrand, what's that other ATC board?

Oh my DR FJL.

Thank goodness we can delete our own posts here.  Bruce would never let us delete and reduce the number of posts ;)

It turned out that I'd asked for a deletion in February and then again in December.

Mike Reynolds said it was very important that their approach "evens the playing field for everyone."

I guess he saw his chat board as a competition?

Just looked, and it's amazing that this succeeded so easily. But may I ask a favor of you or Keith? The title of the review should be "A remarkable journey", and the system took a phrase out of the review containing the word "disappointment" which makes it look like a negative. I've always been able to correct such things in the past, so can you edit, and move the title from the body of the review to where it should be? And thanks again, DR Jane.

I enjoyed my own little remarkable journey this evening. Thanks to a very kind invitation from one Robert A. Harris, I attended a private test screening in the still-under-renovation Bedford Playhouse. The little village of Bedford was never on my beaten path and I never knew this theater existed. Over the years it had been subdivided horribly and treated shabbily otherwise, and nothing of quality remained. Through enormous community dedication and fundraising, it's about to rise like a phoenix to become a destination for film lovers and more.

The main auditorium has been redesigned and rebuilt to Mr. H's specifications. This evening we were blown away by a presentation of the Todd-AO Oklahoma!  As many times as I've seen that, it was like the proverbial first time, as this was the "copy" seen at the Chinese a few years ago, shown to the same specs.

They expect to begin public showings of both new and old films after Labor Day. This is a mere 35-minute drive from my house, and it's going to be a dream come true.

Been relaxing, ate Wacky Noodles, rewrote a good portion of the number I finished yesterday, had a brief visit from the old helper who brought back a lot of crap she'd tried to sell on eBay but didn't, then watched a few things.  I'm done with my viewing and must go do a quick errand.

I'm thinking there might be a fun class action lawsuit about book reviews.

I copied and pasted and stupidly expected it to be correct.  I will have to try to make the changes in the morning, sorry.

One question first.  I did not see where the title of the review goes.  Is there a box that says "title"?

Today is my 17th wedding anniversary.

Sandy and I have, actually, been a couple for 22 years, but the first 5 were rehearsal.

Happy Anniversary, Druxy!

Today, the costumer for Cinder Edna sent me to a local costume shop to see if they had a tux shirt and/or a tux jacket for the ball scene at the end of act one.

A tux jacket was found, but for shirts, one was either too small around my torso with long enough sleeves, or the other fit my torso but the sleeves were too short...AND they were labeled as the same size! :o

Today I will also be making a call to Amazon in the Case of the Disappearing Reviews, which should be interesting.

Basically, what happened was this:  I read GEE way back when and put a review on Amazon. Later, housemate Kristi read her own copy and also put up a review. It was up there for a few glorious seconds, when both hers and mine got zapped by an unseen force.

She called Amazon, and long story short (it took forever due to both the general communication challenge and the rep's inability to see the cause or give any meaningful explanation), but she finally got an email indicating that the reason for hers being taken down was that her account has "elements" in common with another account from which a review of the same product had originated. This, in Amazon's view, indicates the strong possibility of bias in both reviews.

When I talked to them about my own having disappeared, my rep could also "see" nothing wrong and said that if I didn't get an email saying someone had flagged it as offensive or inappropriate, then it was probably a system glitch and that I should feel free to resubmit my review. That, of course, was also blatantly bullshit, as when I went to do so this morning, I was blocked from doing so -- as Kristi still is.

So now I'll be attempting to convince a rep (in the U.S.) that there were not only two separate purchases of the item (three, actually, as I reviewed based on my Kindle reading, and we each bought a hard copy from Kritzerland), and that there is

    (get ready for it)

                                      no collusion!     :)

How rude! >:(

Yesterday my Indianapolis Theatre Home - the professional Phoenix Theatre...moved from the space where they had been located to a brand new lovely facility several blocks toward the center of town.

I can hardly wait to attend a show there....and perhaps WORK there as well.  If my friend Bryan who is the Artistic Director needs an old man in something. So exciting.

This is actually the third space they have occupied.  When Ibegan with them in 1985, they were in a storefront on 9th Street.

The old space:

The new space:

Wow!  Congrats to Phoenix Theatre!

Jane, yes, when you write a review, the minute you start typing a box opens below it - that's where the title goes.  But I read it and while the word disappointment is there, it's clear it's not talking about the book itself.
