Starting to watch Maigret Sets a Trap. Jean Gabin is a great Maigret, but the woman who plays his wife is a wonder, all deadpan and hair curlers. And they're a great match because she doesn't need to remind him that she's as smart as he is.

I have been eating too much sugar in spite of the fact my fasting glucose was slightly above normal, and that I have not dropped the extra pounds I recently gained. No cake thought but that is because I don't have any to eat, thank goodness

Yesterday we exchanged my new tablet for a new modem and wifi mesh. Our wifi is working very nicely now and we love the speed.

I feel like I'm trying to come down with something today. I wanted nothing more than to curl up with an old movie, but that was not to be. After a slow start I managed to do a few cleaning tasks around the apartment. There's lots more to do, but it won't be today.

Jane asked if I like ELEMENTARY. I'm on season 5. I like the show, but don't love it. I do feel that the cast is very good--and not just the two leads. I do have some dislikes, though, regarding the writing and costume design.

I recently watched seasons 1 and 2 of THE TUNNEL. I had avoided it initially because it's a copycat of THE BRIDGE. I liked THE BRIDGE very much. As it turns out, I liked THE TUNNEL as well. I liked the interplay between the two leads, and it was different enough from THE BRIDGE that it felt fresh. (Or maybe my memory just shot.)
