DR FJK I am pleased the wedding was lovely.  What is that cake?

Delicious Chocolate Something or Other.  It was so good that everyone seemed to have forgotten that a part had to be saved for the first anniversary.  Since our table was close to the food, it was clear no one thought about that.  Before it got completely devoured, I found Maria and told her it was going fast, and she got right on saving two pieces to freeze for next year.

Good for you, and I wish I had some of the cake.

I have never eaten an enchilada .  To the best of my knowledge I have never even seen one

You're missing out!  Get thee to a Mexican restaurant!

I am afraid my tastes run more to Taco Bell than authentic

Perhaps when we see Desperate Measures in July, we should have a Mexican dinner after?

YES. No question.

I was trying to remember what my first Mexican food was. No idea, really. But it almost certainly had to be on the order of Taco Bell and the like. And when I was finally taken to a “real” Mexican restaurant? Bliss.

I know mine certainly was not Taco Bell.

Mine was El Nibble Nook in Livonia, Michigan, on a field trip with my high school Spanish Club.  Silly name, but great authentic Mexican food.  It’s still in business and there’s now a second location in Bloomfield, Michigan.

I think mine was either Taco Bell or Chi-Chi's, which wasn't any more Mexican than Taco Bell. Then, in Florida, even the Mexican food was more Cuban than anything. I don't think I had really good Mexican until I moved here. That was almost 20 years ago. I think that has changed somewhat. Still, San Antonio's version is light years better than Austin and elsewhere.

The worst I've had was in Ireland.

Trying to clean out the freezer. I had duck breast, peas with mint and butter, and mushrooms for dinner.

Interesting to hear that Woody Harrelson and Mike Pence were classmates when Woody was in school on a presbyterian scholarship!

Going through the Bogie-Bacall movies. Tonight is Key Largo. Saving Big Sleep for last.

Even Keith didn't want to go for Mexican food in Ireland ;D

We had the best Indian food in Dublin.

I just found out my friend was outside when the ash was falling.  She doesn't feel great but nothing bad.  She was unable, so far, to clean up the mess in her little courtyard and said it is difficult to take her dogs out there.  Hopefully it will be easier to clean once it dries.  Someone told her it would turn to cement.  I sure hope not.

Watching some weird experimental films from Hollis Frampton. No relation to Peter. Or to sanity. The one I'm watching now is a silent, 7-minute film called Lemon. It's of a lemon. The lighting changes over time. So, it goes from dark to light and back again. It's still 7 minutes of a lemon.

Apparently this was big on the museum circuit. Right.

If this is because of the reaction to your dance photo, I'm sure you can be assured you it's totally harmless.  :)

Oh, good.  I cleaned up that Morgan Freeman reference earlier so that posterity reading HHW for a look at cultural highlights of the 2010's won't be upset by it.

I'm sure that my first Mexican food was Taco Bell.  I've gone to and have enjoyed more authentic Mexican food, but I'm not a purist...I still like Taco Bell.

You know, of all the things people have been posting over the last twenty-four hours...

The one thing that stands out the most disturbingly...?

Well, I’ll tell you.

It’s vixmom and the enchiladas. Or lack of same. It’s like a major disruption in the Force or something.

I'm remembering the misheard Rupert Holmes lyric "If you like bean enchiladas and getting caught in the rain."

:))
