The four of us celebrated Father’s Day with a steak dinner here at home.  Bacon-wrapped filets, baked potatoes, and peas.  Rob and Mary Linda brought a nice bottle of Pinot Noir.  There’s apple pie for dessert, but we’re waiting a bit for that.

Listening to Delius as conducted by Beecham - the first two CDs are all the stereo recordings he did, the rest are mono.  The stereo stuff is fantastic. Haven't gotten to the mono yet, but Beecham is considered the be all and end all of Delius.  Feeling very pastoral and relaxed right now, which is what I need.  I have been VERY good all day today in terms of throat clearing and phlegm has not been bad save for a bit this morning.

Kind of a Delius Father's Day.  This Beecham set is kind of astonishing - Warner Classics, seven CDs, eighteen bucks.  You do the math.

Well, this is my last day in NYC.  I had lunch with my friend Angelo.   I wanted to see Three Tall Women, but it was sold out.  Angela told me he has had luck with StubHub so I got the app.  The price went down close to showtime and I thought I had purchased a ticket but it didn't go through.   It was about 2:55 and I ran down to the Shubert and got a ticket for Hello, Dolly.   I enjoyed Bernadette Peters's take on the role and the new Barnaby, Charlie Stemp, is really good.  They gave him a little more dancing to do than the previous actor.

Does anyone know this delightful Delius opera, A Village Romeo and Juliet?

I don't.  Is it really delightful?

It is.  Apparently someone made a film of the opera not too long ago - I think I'll buy it - there are several CDs available.

I then came to my sister's house and put together the new picnic table that I bought her last year.  I didn't realize that there were a LOT of parts. :-\ That took more than an hour to put together.

Here's a picture of the picnic table.  It's upside down because the endcaps of the legs are glued on and it needs time to dry.

You must've gotten the last one.  The only ones that found were $69.69 and $106.49. :o

We had a nice time this evening visiting with our friends.  The wife was one of my bridesmaids.  We first met in Jr. High

Well, since I posted last, my throat has started to act up - it does seem to get worse later at night.  Most annoying.  I'm trying my damndest not to clear my throat but it's getting really hard.

Why don’t you buy a VHS for $10.00, make DVDs, and sell them for $79.99!
