Tonight I shall be attending the first night of the official opening weekend of the Bedford Playhouse.

Along with a li’l party or whatever, the film tonight is Dirty Dancing. I’m hoping Mr. Robert Harris is planning on being there, as it’s always wonderful to see him. If not, then some other time. Tomorrow night is the big gala occasion for those who can drop a couple of grand each to attend, and on Sunday they’re presenting family fare which I’d probably pass on even if I didn’t have other plans.

I might go next week to see the newly reconstructed/completed Orson Welles film.

AND THANKS TO ALL HERE AT HHW for the patented HHW vibes. The show could NOT have gone better. Everyone was on top of everything....the orchestra with the new trumpet player was wonderful....I remember all my lines and got onstage and offstage at the right times....

Of course when I ran back for my first quick change, The Girl was not there....and my costume was still on the rack on the hanger.....she was there when I got backstage for the second change.....never said sorry or anything.....hopefully she will remember tonight that she has a job to do.

Birdy Barnum is kind of quiet this morning. If I play him the parakeet sounds, he gets too worked up trying to get out of the cage to find the source of the chirping....so he is just listening to me talk and watching tv with me.

The painters are done. This afternoon our furniture will be moved back into the guestroom. The paper protecting the hallway floors can be picked up. I expect tomorrow Keith will be able to put the artwork back up on the walls.
Then we wait 18 days for the carpet to be installed.

We are not happy about the long wait, especially since the delay was due to the insurance company taking so long to approve the new carpet.
