Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Arlen arrived here on Tuesday.....I forgot to write it down.

I'm still waiting...patiently.

You never know what you're going to find at the big sale, so it never pays to have an expectation. People who were looking only for Dan Brown books were inevitably disappointed.

For me, I found the only volume of Proust outside of In Search of Lost Time.

Among the CDs, I got the OBC of Beautiful and an album of Rosemary Clooney singing bossa nova.

Last night at '2001' turned out to be as fine an evening as one could have hoped. Keir Dullea introduced the film, and sat for autographs and photos afterward. As I'd already heard, he's extremely personable, and very supportive of the film being seen by the widest possible audience. And trust me, a few of them were pretty wide.

(pause for polite laughter)

The presentation was very good for the theater's first showing (I flatter myself to think I was probably the only one in that audience to detect a couple of flaws which I hope they'll iron out for the remainder of the run), and I don't think I've known any present day '2001' audience to be as wrapped up in the film as this one. There were only a couple of hundred people in attendance, so not nearly a full house, but through it you could hear a pin drop, with no fidgeting or anything unseemly going on. There was reaction in just a couple of the right places, and most of them stayed to get a signed photo or have their picture taken with Dullea. (Which by the way wasn't free; it's all like "cons" nowadays, they don't give it away.)

Most importantly, friend Kristi - who had never seen the film in a theater and therefore had literally never cared about it in spite of very much liking other Kubrick films - LOVED everything about the movie. It was a revelation, which - better late than never, has SOLD her on seeing things the way they were meant to be seen.

That's so cool, ChasSmith!  I wish I could see it on a BIG screen!

Among the DVDs was a Roberto Rosselini film on St. Francis that was co-written by Fellini.

I met Kier Dullea and his wife at the 68th Street movie theatre, maybe 10 years ago   They were a lovely couple.  I cannot remember now what the movie was!

She assisted last night, and was as delightful as he is.

Here's yrs truly, presenting him with the one original studio 8x10 I'd ever acquired, followed by three of us who were ready for our close-up.

Great pictures!  And of the theater and screen!

Well, I'm off.  I got my five hours in today, and am now going to my parents' for dinner.  I have to bring my own and something for my dad, so I'm going to Red Wagon, a local burger joint with VERY good burgers.  It's just at the end of the street where I work, it's close.

Be back later.

John G, although I enjoyed the early episodes of 800 WORDS, I didn't complete the first season. It got too involved with the two teens for my taste and I didn't return. Maybe I should. There were several elements of the show that I liked, just not the teen stuff.

I've been busy trying to catch up. I don't know where all this stuff comes from. Brian will be on vacation for the next couple weeks, so the cleaning is up to me. Plus all the other stuff.  :P

One last item and we are done.  Thank you yes, basically we are pleased with the results.  They will be writing a check to replace the mattress & box spring, after we sign & have an acceptance agreement notarized.  They cleaned the spread & sheets.  I don't know if the water ruined them or the perfume they were cleaned in ruined them but they smell.

I am not sure if I simply overdid it yesterday or what, however, my wrist is bad again today.  It is connected to the elbow issue and could be a mix of reasons.

I will likely stop in once later tonight but that will be it.  It is important I do not write using my tablet.
