The run was pretty smooth with come good stuff, but a couple of my most reliable people were not quite with it today, but they knew it. My biggest problem actress has still never gotten through her ONE scene and song correctly and I'm now actively getting nasty about it. You try to explain that when the screw up lyrics the audience blame that stuff on the lyricist not the performer because they're merely hearing wrong words. I told her that I am much to much a craftsman and perfectionist with lyrics and I'm not going to have it anymore. But Doug will be talking to her this evening and laying down the law because neither of us trust here at all and think she will screw up repeatedly during the run. She assures us and assures us and still it's wrong at every performance. So, we have a backup plan and if we have to pull a switch we will.

The stumble-through was REALLY rough, mostly due to our replacement replacement replacement replacement being completely unprepared - I whittled her down to two numbers so it wouldn't be too much, but in the end the longer more complicated number was too much for her, although she didn't spend the time necessary to nail it down. She wanted to have lyrics onstage but at the stumble-through she literally could not take her eyes off the paper. So, when we finished I took her outside and told her I didn't want her to have that kind of pressure and that it just wasn't far enough along for it to work. I think she breathed a big sigh of relief.

Having to cut her two songs, I had to quickly rearrange the order of the early part of the show - it's not what we did at PRT but it's how we need to get through it. I had lots of notes, gave them, worked stuff, and then Doug and I went and had food at Corky's - I had my sandwich and a salad.

I have only toured and never worked one. Touring is enough to see it would be a lo g day for the volunteers.
