Good evening. Just home from playing a rehearsal for a production of Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street it's nice to be able to play some real music theatre, not some of the drek I've been playing the last 3 months. I played Keys 2 in a production of The Addams Family-The Musical after which I swore I'd never go near that crap again. After that, I played for a production of Disaster-The Musical which was fun, but mindless and silly. I then played and conducted a high school production of Beauty and the Beast which was magical and a lot of fun. I do love that score from beginning to end. I finished up my "school tour of 2018" with covering the harp/percussion 2 part for a high school production of Sweeney Todd the school edition. That was great to be able to make music with some really talented students and to play that wonderful Sondheim score - AND I'm happy the kids were exposed to this musical. I'm finishing up the year playing for a production of the Menken/Ahrens A Christmas Carol - The Musical = for that experience, you'll have to wait for the memoirs.
Everything else is fine. My DD Ben (mini schnauzer) turns 8 today, and my little guy, Leo will be 3 in May, how the time flies. They are good DD"s, and they love each other (FINALLY), at the moment, they are cuddled on the couch together.
As for me, well, nothing much has changed.
