Friday afternoon greetings!  Sorry I haven’t checked in for a few days.  Richard and I both had appointments with our eye doctor on Wednesday and then we did some Christmas shopping and went to lunch.  We got home, regrouped, and he went to physical therapy (shoulders) and I went to visit my friend who’s recovering from hip surgery.

Yesterday we got up and were getting ready to drive to Piqua to visit my cousin’s wife Pam and one-year-old daughter Gracie.  They’re visiting Pam’s mom, but Gracie was running a fever so we postponed to today and I did some puttering.  This morning they think Grace has an ear infection, so we’ve cancelled all together because I don’t want to expose Richard to anything that would interfere with his upcoming cataract surgeries.

Back from rehearsing this little cabaret type show we’re doing at the senior centers.

I get a few hours of rest (but not much, since I’m one of the weary wicked), then this evening I’m off to attend Kristi’s office holiday par-tay at a local country club. It’s known for good food, even better libation, and much merriment.

I will be careful not to have too much of that merriment stuff.

I slept off and on for 15 hours. I think I’m in the right time zone now.

Hope you have a great time, John!

Sad news about Nancy Wilson dying.

I'd read that earlier. :(

On patrol this morning, Annabelle did something I've never ever seen her do.  We were on the second floor landing, and I was sitting on the steps.  Annabelle was sitting in the middle of the hall when she sat ip and watched something, then she stood on her back legs and reached up as though someone were petting her.  Then she walked down the hall, and stood again, as she does when I scratch the top of her head while I'm standing and reached up again.  I think she just met a ghost who likes cats!

Oh, my!

Wise decision but a shame you had to cancel.

Better than snow, DR JRand.  Today I’m home except for my quick trip to Central Pastry this morning for some Christmas cookies to hold us over until I bake my own next week.  Tomorrow we’re going to a lunchtime triple birthday party for Rev. Amy’s children, whose  birthdays are Dec. 6, 10, and 13.  On Sunday, we’re going to Lima for Fr. Richard to conduct a service for the former parishioners there.

Annabelle is congested again.  This is beginning to be a very bad joke.  I cannot afford to take her to the vet every time her sinuses need flushing and, to make it worse, I don't think this children's nose drops is doing a thing.

Almost done with my day here at school.  We are in full Christmas Program mode now. We have our program next Thursday, and I'm hoping for a little miracle that it gets pulled off well.  Everyone always says "Oh, it will always come together" and while they are right, I'm waiting for the day when they aren't.  LOL    The kids will pull through.

I'm back in for the final weekend of A Christmas Carol-The Musical and doing my best to be happy with playing with some great musicians for a dull production of a great show.   4 more performances, not like I'm counting or anything.

Other than that, still doing some Christmas shopping for the kids, as the adults are all taken care of.  A few bottles of booze for other people, and I'm done.  So done.   Counting the days (11) before I leave for Amsterdam for a week or so away.

TOD - for my birthday Rob and Mary Linda gave me Christine Andreas’ new Edith Piaf tribute CD.  I can’t stop listening to it!

Sounds wonderful.

We went to the Kristkindlmarkt in Rothenburg today. There are some pictures on Facebook if anyone wants to copy them over.

My favorite was the organ grinder Santa playing Danny Boy.

I do, too, DR KevinH!  DR Elmore and I saw her in OKLAHOMA on Broadway in 1980.
