Nothing to report, so I'm off to bed.

I had a very strange dream last night.  I traveled to some mittel-European country like Lithuania or Estonia to visit my friend Alan Freeman who died four years ago.

I've begun reading The Best Cat Ever, Cleveland Amory's third and last book in his series of books about his cat Polar Bear that began with the wonderful The Cat Who Came For Christmas.  This book, written after Polar Bear's death in 1992, is a killer, funny and heartbreaking.

On patrol this morning, Annabelle did something I've never ever seen her do.  We were on the second floor landing, and I was sitting on the steps.  Annabelle was sitting in the middle of the hall when she sat ip and watched something, then she stood on her back legs and reached up as though someone were petting her.  Then she walked down the hall, and stood again, as she does when I scratch the top of her head while I'm standing and reached up again.  I think she just met a ghost who likes cats!

Ruby Keeler actually got to be a bit of a better actress as she went on......her tap dancing was always kind of flat-footed, but I guess that was the style then....or maybe it was the shoes she wore....anyway, she could be pretty funny ON PURPOSE.....when she wanted to be.

I didn't see THE BIG SHORT....there are a lot of previews on tv now for VICE, but it doesn't seem to be something I would want to see....it's obviously history rewritten for an agenda which will be embraced and lauded by some members of the press.....
