Also, recently Terri Hatcher has won two awards as Best Actress in a Comedy series. I know it makes good copy for her to be enjoying this comeback, but I don't think her work is nearly as worthy of awards as Felicity Huffman or Marcia Cross.

Just goes to show how much other stuff figures into who wins what award and who doesn't.

I think the "thing" is that they submit specific shows to accompany nomination suggestions. Hatcher was front and center in the early going...moreso than the other ladies who have lately come into their own.

Certainly, though, there were several of them nominated for the Golden Globe...so her "comeback" might have been a consideration.

Good Afternoon!

Well, my baking for Hallelujah, Baby! has officially come to an end. I made two of those Amazon Cakes - without adding double the amount of water this time! - and a Pumpkin Spice Streusel Bundt cake. -And I have to say the house smells sooooo good right now! -Who needs needs Yankee Candle?

I dropped them off at the theatre about two hours ago for the crew who is handling the strike of the set and lights.

Since I hadn't brought my own Bundt pans with me, I dug around the kitchen cabinets until I found the ones my Mom has had for years - since my childhood. Worked like a charm.

On the way back, I stopped at the Vietnamese bakery and picked up a grilled pork sandwich - banh mi, and I mailed some letters at the post office.

Tonight, for Valentine's Day, I'm planning on attending the iPhoto and Adobe Photoshop Elements workshops at the Apple Store here in Arlington. Very romantic, huh?

RE: Jacques Torres - I believe he just opened a store in Manhattan recently. At least that's what I remember from a recent article in Gourmet magazine.

I have been to his store/shop/factory once before. WOW!!!

There are lots of great chocolate shops in Manhattan, both upscale and more homey. My favorites - at least off the top of my head at this moment - are Chocolate Bar in Chelsea (great chocolates, hot cocoa and other goodies), and Maison du Chocolat at Rockefeller Center.

A few years ago, while walking around the Village and Chelsea, I made a point of stopping in all the chocolate shops - at least the ones I saw - and I bought one piece of chocolate in each shop. Perfect energy food for a leisurely day spent walking around Lower Manhattan

However, it is sort of neat that "The Real Book" - which is a series of books of jazz charts - has gone legitimate. They're now published by Hal Leonard. I still remember the days when they were literally sold out of the trunk of someone's car during the first week of classes in college.

One of the exercises I remember from first year Jazz Theory was having to reharmonize the phrase that's on the fourth line of the chart above (leading into the cadence at Bb7, which in turns gets us into the bridge). I believe I worked backwards along the circle of fifths from the target chord and did

After work I must once again run up to Frey's in Wilsonville to find a copy of THE COSMIC MAN (1959)on DVD to view for a future potential interview. I like to be prepared with having scene a potential interviewees movies before contacting them for an interview..however, sometimes I end up spending money on these things only to find the person does not want to be interviewed! Ah, well.

On the bright side I often get to see some wonderful films that I would not otherwise have watched...however, that is likely not to be the case with THE COSMIC MAN! LOL!

Perhaps I will go ahead and also purchase the Mexican film ACAPULCO A GO-GO, subtitles be damned!

DRPogue, I'm happy the carton arrived safely. Thanks for your kind words. The vocal arrangements and the editorial job on the score are mine, but the wonderful orchestrations are the original 1930 charts by the greatly talented and venerable Hans Spialek and Robert Russell Bennett. You are right, they are superb, and the dance arrangements are so much fun!
