We took a shuttle bus to the town of Ha Long Bay and enjoyed the views and a short walk.

Off to the movies, then dinner somewhere.

Be back later with a report!

Well, the movie was pretty darned good, in my opinion.  It is, of course, completely over the top ridiculous, but good fun, very good special effects and I liked the actors.  On Rotten Tomatoes, it got a 65% from reviewers, and 80% from the audience.  As ridiculous as it is (especially in the fight and battle scenes), I'm definitely in the 80% camp. :)

Writing vibes for MR BK.....I don't mind long first chapters....I usually don't realize a chapter is L O N G until I reach the end of it.....

But then if it makes sense and feels right, what does it matter if it's a "long" chapter or not?  I've read a few books where all the chapters have very different lengths because it made sense story-wise and that's what the authors wanted. :)

Today the temperature was up in the 70s, but it still felt like a soup day. So, I made an easy chicken tomatillo soup. It packs a little heat, but it's really good.

And speaking of soups, last month (or maybe sometime in November), I bought a 2-pack of chicken tortilla soup from Costco (they were in refrigerated plastic tubs, not in cans or frozen).  I ate one container last month (not in one sitting) and this morning I noticed the other container that was still in my fridge.  I haven't opened this package, but it was VERY bulging on both the top and bottom!  I also noticed that it doesn't expire until the middle of February, so why is the pressure increasing enough to bulge out the packaging, especially since it's been in my fridge the whole time??

This happened once before, but I don't remember if it was the same kind of soup or not.  It was from Costco too, because I remember that I took that one back after eating the first container. :-\

Host Sandra Oh won for her show, Killing Eve. Has anyone seen it?

My friend Margo's been watching it and really likes it.

After seeing Aquaman, Margo, her middle daughter (who also came to the movies with us) and I went to Applebee's.  I got their limited time All-You-Can-Eat Chicken Tenders meal.  Margo and her daughter had the 2-For-$20 deal.

We got there at about 6:10, got seated about 6:15, was finally able to give our ourders to the server at about 6:25 and didn't get our food until about 7:15!  The people at a table right across the aisle from us arrived after us, but got their food about 15 minutes BEFORE us!  WTH??

When we finally got our food, it was all hot and fresh.  It didn't seem like it had been sitting around for long at all, so that's good.  I did have to ask our waiter a couple of times for the dipping sauces, so he lost points there. ::)

We did ask to speak with the manager about having to wait so long to get our food.  She did apologize and said that things were busy.  She also said she would take a few dollars off our bill.  When we got our (separate) bills, Margo had $5 taken off hers, but nothing was taken off mine. :o

We asked for the manager again and she said that she didn't realize that our bills were split, so she went back and took $2.50 off my bill.  That made me happy. :)

Then I came home.

And now for something completely different...has anyone seen or heard about THIS INSTAGRAM VIDEO from Snoop Dogg?  It's only about a minute long.  In his own inimitable way**, he says that if you're a furloughed government worker, you shouldn’t vote for Donald Trump in 2020.

;)

**It's filled with lots of swear words!

If Snoop Dogg is anti-Trump, I might have to become a Republican!

Of course, some of the winners really took their time even getting to the stage to accept their awards.

The director of ROMA went around and hugged and kissed everyone at his table, like he was getting ready to board a flight for Europe.  Then he slowly sauntered up to the stage like he had all night.

Then the producer of GREEN BOOK refused to let the music play him off.  He demanded they stop the music until he was done.
