The choral piece is finished.  Annabelle passed on dinner, but she ate some Greenies and Temptations treats from my hand. so that's at least a positive sign.  Thatch had his deli turkey, so he's full of piss and vinegar now.

Bring on the senior discounts!

When we went to the movies yesterday (and this happens frequently), Margo bought senior ticket.  Then when I bought my ticket, the person selling the tickets assumed that I was a senior and charged me the senior price, even though I'm only 52...I didn't correct that. ;)

I wrote a page of new stuff.  Had Taco Bell for lunch - just needed something quick and cheap.  But how should I feel about this: The young gal totaled my order then told me she gave me the senior discount.  a) no one else has ever offered me that at Taco Bell, and more importantly, b) Does that mean I look like a SENIOR???  Damn them, damn them all to hell.

I take the senior discount on my coffee at McDonald's.

I have been given a senior discount at the movies, too. Nice.

Watching a silly piece of Hollywood hogwash called San Antonio, starring that great Texan, Errol Flynn, as well as Alexis Smith.

It's got some fun Max Steiner music in it. And supposedly a song with a Ted Koehler lyric.

I've started a fascinating bio called Wolf: The Lives of Jack London. Really didn't know much about him. Now I want to read a few more of his books.

I have been getting senior discounts since I was about 40.  Except the one place I want it: Golden Corral.

Wae-Ling has been here almost every day since Christmas. Leonard loves her, because she plays with him. Their favorite game recently is a yardstick peeking out from under a newspaper.

He gets neutered this week, so I guess I will be on his dislike list.

I would probably put you on that list, too, if you did that to me.

So, this claptrap is almost over. It's almost wholly unrecognizable as San Antonio. And I don't think Cuddles Sakall would have survived a day in Texas.

I need a dish for a potluck that I can take to work beforehand and not have to heat or assemble.

I was thinking of a tomatillo-avocado salsa that people seem to like with some chips. It's easy.

But I saw a recipe for a tomato pie recipe that you serve cold. It looks good, but maybe only I would like it.

I just saw a recipe for Tamale Pie that looked really good. That is, until I saw that the woman who wrote it called for a half-cup of raisins in it. Why? That's just nasty.

I've started watching The Happytime Murders. Why? Perhaps I want to see if it's as bad as the reviews.

The first five minutes are enough to make me want to go to bed.

Finally finished with rehearsal - so long, but kids are fun.  The youngest kid, which I knew was a crapshoot as she hadn't really done anything, but comes from a very well-known parent, just was too intimidated and it was clear it wasn't going to work but I let that decision be hers.  So, I can lose her solo but have to have someone fill in for the duet.

Have written six pages and must do many more before I go to sleep, but I don't have any plans tomorrow so that's fine.  I'm almost to the end of this chapter, and then I think the first four or five pages of the new chapter should flow pretty easily since I know what those pages entail.

And I had a wonderful call from Muse Margaret, who loved every bit of the eighty-seven pages she read.  She had a few typo fixes and she wanted me to elaborate on one thing because she didn't know what thing thing I was talking about was - good point, and it's easy to add the little paragraph to explain it.  But I could not have been happier with her report.

Now, may I just say that page three is not acceptable and extremely unseemly?

It is not possible to still be on page three at eleven o'clock California time.  It is not possible.
