So, I did manage to write some more pages - eight total I think and I was actually ahead this week, so I think that's fine.

Well, I need to go to bed now.  I need to go to work early because there's a problem with the report that I need to run when I pay the bills.  The problem is that for some reason, I can't access the report. :o The IT people know about it, but hopefully they'll have fixed it by the time I get to work...hopefully.

Have a good day, all!

Bruce and all the young people did a phenomenal job tonight and the material was so much more sophisticated than what you would ever expect in a young person's cabaret.   For us, the magical part of Kritzerland shows is discovering little known gems of songs!

Great pictures of the cast!
Thank you George, it's fun capturing actors' and singers' expressiveness :)

T.O.D.

Favorite performance?

THE MUSIC MAN   (What else?)

I also saw Preston on stage with Mary Marin in I DO!  I DO!

And, I also met him in person.  My late publicity client, Dan O'Herlihy, co-starred with Preston in THE LAST STARFIGHTER, and, one day, I accompanied Dan to the studio.

Preston was a nice, friendly man.  I surprised him when I mentioned, WE TAKE THE TOWN, a musical that closed before it came to New York.  He played Pancho Villa.

I fed the cats, and went back to bed,  Around 8:00 they decided I needed to be up, so they jumped onto the bed and climbed all over me.

Robert Preston:

Harold Hill, first and foremost, always and forever. But so much else, too. For me, he's one of those who personifies the best in musical theater.

Never got to see him in person. First sight of him was in the film version of The Music Man. We were at the lovely Florida Theater in downtown Fort Lauderdale on its opening night there, and that's one of a handful of glorious early-1960s movies for which I will never forget the theater and the packed audience and the "occasion" of it all. Everything about the movie and the material blew me away, and I lived and breathed little else (until West Side Story just months later).

I love it all, but special recognition goes to I Do! I Do!. (Nice reminiscence there, DR Druxy.) And thanks to a certain Indiegogo, I now possess a treasured RP inscription on the souvenir program (along with that of a certain co-star, making it doubly wonderful).

I am not going to City Center today, but I do need to take Thatch to the vet for his booster shot.  I'm trying to keep that mum because he will go into hiding if he hears a word about it.

TCB:  I enjoyed Miss Saigon.  The cast was very good.  The actor who played the soldier friend of the leading man had a terrific singing voice.
