So here I am. And I’m feeling tempted to indulge in a Sausage McMuffin or something this morning.

I went through the rest of the Shrek book and there are over a dozen things for the programmer to fix. I think most of them are simple matters, and a few of them I could probably even manage myself. But making everything right is covered in his fee, and it wouldn’t do the community at large any favors if we didn’t get things corrected in his master files.

After I fed them and went back to bed, the cats let me sleep in peace.

I had dreams about working at Barnes and Noble.  It seems a whole other lifetime ago.

DR JohnG, whenever I listen to Carmen, I never think of Gilligan's Island.  I think of what a genius Bizet was and how I wish I had an iota of his talent.

Well, that check to my HMO, mailed on Jan. 18, finally cleared the bank.  What the hell took so long?

I was very busy yesterday. We opened the church kitchen to a group that cooks big pots of soup and delivers them to some of the churches where ICE drops off refugees. It is the passion of one of the new congregation members.

I suppose some of our church members don't want our facility to be used for such a purpose. But, hey, these are hungry people, and Jesus said to feed the hungry.

I still had squash left from last week's vegetable box, so I took that over with me.

It was my introduction to Bizet. I must have been 6 or 7 when I saw the rerun. Always good for a laugh, especially when Phil Silvers does his one-man version of the show.

TOD:

Sushi is the Japanese word for rice. Rice is not good for my blood sugar, so I try to avoid eating too much of it. But I love a good dragon roll or anything with deep-fried soft-shell crab in it.

Sashimi is the cuts of raw seafood. Love it. Can't afford it often, so it's a rare treat. Eel used to be a favorite, but the sugary sauce makes it a little too sweet for my tastes nowadays. I think I prefer fatty tuna. Salmon can also be quite good. Been eating it for decades.

Annabelle and I made our patrol.  After disposing the litter, we made a trip to the basement to drop off the cans and plastics.  Then we rode the elevator to the first floor so she could see what was happening on 82nd Street.  One of the first floor neighbors came out and frightened her, so she ran to the stairs and up to the second floor with me in pursuit.  Now we are hom,e and she's amusing Thatch with her morning adventure.

Last night around 9:30 I started hearing a barking dog.  When I went to bed, I could still hear him barking, so I got up, went to the window, and opened it.  Annabelle joined me, and we looked up and down the street for the dog.  I finally realized it was in this car parked in front of Holy Trinity.  When it was silent, I could hear several young men in the car with it talking, but not what they were saying.  I debated calling the precinct, decided not to, and went back to bed.
