DR JOHN G I remember a review of THE LAST MOVIE in Life magazine....it said that there were some slates that said "Scene Missing" and that it would have been more honest if they said "Sense Missing"....

Crime Dramas!

Police Story
Police Woman
The Detectives
Adam-12 & Dragnet (in all its forms)
Perry Mason - sort of a crime drama
NYPD Blue

Nowadays I don't watch any regularly....but I like the NCIS shows...

Yup. The infamous Scene Missing slates were funny. The rest of the movie had its moments, but too much was drug-induced pretentiousness. Very much of its time.

Like Frederick in The Pirates of Penzance, I am a slave to duty,  At 11:30, when I saw Scooter was still unrescued, I decided to reserve him to save his life.  I'd worry about the rest of the issues after he was saved.  The good news is that a rescue is in progress, and I was told to try later if it fell through.  I hope it goes through and that his rescuer is good and loving to him.  I'm sorry - and relieved as well - to be off the hook (so far!) but I also know this will be my last attempt to find the closest thing to a dog to suit me and the kids.

The reservation fell through, and I could not pick up the slack because at noon they cut us off.  Scooter will possible die any time between now and 5:00.  It hurts.

Thanks!  I can only hope the ACC decides to spare him today and relist him for Thursday's euthanasia list.

I loved the original Law & Order but got tired of Law & Order SVU.  I also liked Bones and Castle, but got tired when I felt they'd run their course.

Now I seem to only watch the British mysteries:
Pie in the Sky
Vera
Midsomer Murders
Inspector Lynley
Grantchester
Broadchurch

The jury is still out on Shetland.

Elmore, didn’t you work with Mimi Bessette? She has a new album of Broadway lullabies out, a sequel to her album of 20 years ago. The library is getting both.

And on that subject, kind of: I still have not found the ad, but at least two more people have said the local paper had printed "Dorothy Collins in APPLESAUCE." and that people did call for tickets to APPLESAUCE.  (I think it ws North Shore.)

The moral is if it's a star they want to see, you can sell APPLESAUCE.

Who knew agents trying to package writers and directors was ever controversial.  Now it's being called corrupt in the Hollywood reporter.

How was anyone supposed to know it was a corrupt practice when it was done openly for decades?

On the very tiny level, we loved it when our agent brought in one of the choreographers she represented, who had said she liked the project.

She attracted actors we might not have gotten interested in the show when the director was doing his own movement rather than real dancing.  (Like that line in "42nd Street," they're paying $4,40 a seat out there and they want to see real hoofing.)

Is the idea that writers don't feel OK saying no.  But how does something that everyone assumed was part of a business suddenly get called  corrupt?

Uh oh.  I thought getting us to page 3 would get me some absolution for E&T-ness, but I'm getting bleary-eyed from the screen.

Yes, Mimi is wonderful!

She came to see a show by Skip years ago that her friend was in a while back.  She is such a wonderful upbeat presence who knows how to be upbeat and positive in the lobby where anyone who can help the show is there, but then, if you ask her, will give helpful thoughts for the next time you do the piece.  Lots of performers know they should do this (Maury Yeston had the Seven-block rules for shows with friends involved), but she was so good at it that you could tell how supportive she seemed to enjoy being, even meeting her just a few times.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  We were up and outta here early to meet my high school friends Chris and Craig for breakfast.  They live in Michigan and are making their way to Florida to get warm.  Richard and I did a couple of errands on the way home and I just put a chicken in the oven for our dinner.  It’s time for a nap.
