It’s a student orchestra, so there will be several of these.

The keyboard programmer and I are still going back and forth on keyboard patches, but that’s all right, we have plenty of time.

Since is "Ida Lupino Day," it gives me an opportunity to promo my one-woman play, IDA: THE LAST LUPINO, which is currently available in paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon.

And, within a few days, an audio edition will be available, brilliantly performed by Kathleen Godwin.

Oh — Speaking of conflicts (which, actually, nobody was)...

Yesterday afternoon it killed me to have to tell Mr. Robert Harris of all people that I’ll be playing a show at the same time they’ll be running Lawrence of Arabia at their renovated theater on an upcoming Sunday afternoon. I shall have to try my best not to weep during the final chorus of “What I Did For Love”...

AmsterDog posted this photo of Scooter on his way to his new home.  Like the proverbial fisherman, I will always regard Scooter as the one that got away.  The timing was all wrong.

Hmmmm.....I like Miss Ida Lupino is just about everything....I guess my favorites would be:

THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT
DEVOTION
THE HARD WAY

Robert Ryan.....I never got his message....I like his voice, but he is not so much to look at.  But I do like:

BORN TO BE BAD
EXECUTIVE ACTION
GOD'S LITTLE ACRE
MRS. LESLIE

DR Jan according to my fitbit, which I wore all day, I walked 10 miles yesterday.  Three on the treadmill at the gym, three or more in the afternoon, and a couple more after dinner.  It was too beautiful not to get out.

Today, I have a meeting, but it's going to be at the Tumwater Library branch instead of where I work.  Other people from my building are going to this meeting, but I don't know if any others are carpooling or walking.  It's one street over from where we are, so it wouldn't take long to get there, either way.

Only one street over I would think you would be walking.

I seemtobe having a Corsican brothers experience with Elmore.  For the past three days I have been getting excruciating pains in my lower left back... then they go away and suddenly without warning hit again...

Happy photo.  I have had a number of those "the one that got away" but that feels much better than the ones that haunt me.

T.O.D.

I have nothing to add regarding either Miss Lupino or Mr. Ryan.  I am sure I saw them both in many films, but nothing stands out to me.  I did get to see Miss Lupino directing an episode of some TV series back in the early days of the Universal Studio Tour.  And I did enjoy Ida Lupino and Howard Duff in an episode of the LUCY-DESI COMEDY HOUR.

Well, I must be leaving soon. I'm going to stop at probably McDonald's for a snack to eat on the way down to Norwalk.

Reason for McDonald's:  If you choose carefully, they have a few foods that aren't messy, making for the best eat-while-you-drive variety. I don't fool around with anything that's going to distract me in that way. I do need something to carry me through, and I don't have time for anything else.

BK sighting!  I walked in to my dining area and saw him on The Partridge Family on Antenna TV.   I thought "he looks familiar."

(That should have said "eat-neatly-with-one-hand-while-you-drive".)   :)

Usually a McDouble (small cheeseburger) works. The sausage & egg burritos are usually spotless as well. McNuggets are perfect if you're not dipping into a sauce.

And a large Diet Coke is "just enough".

Some of you were talking about Burger King ("BK") Whoppers.

I love 'em, but car food they ain't. Even the way I order them, which is fairly dry, they're messy. But I don't ever think of doing Burger King very often. Once or twice a year would be about it.

Same with Wendy's.

Sadly, no In-N-Out on the east coast. I believe the company has actually stated that they have no desire to expand beyond the territory they've been thriving in.
