Now that McDonald's has free or cheap delivery made so incredibly easy in Manhattan, I'm reminded that back when they Drive-In fast food started, there were jokes about how great this was, since now we can have a Big Mac and milkshake and fries, and not even have to bother removing our fat asses from a vehicle to walk into the restaurant.

DR Kevin, of course go to the Parthenon. Be careful though as in many areas the old stone is worn, smooth, and slippery.

Walk around the Plaka area and also find a restaurant that appeals to you. https://www.athensguide.com/plaka.html

You can take an all day tour to three islands, Hydra, Poros, and Aegina. Or take the ferry to just one island. We went to charming Hydra and spent a couple of nights there.

Two and a half hours from the city is Delphi. You can find days tours to Delphi. We did a wonderful 4 day tour to Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi, Meteora. Meteora was gorgeous.

it could be that the Kentucky Fried Movie "Did a Cow --- in Here?" air freshener spoof ad gets linked every time I have an excuse to do that.

That seems to happen more in bathrooms and any adjacent rooms than at the front door unless there's a pet rest room.

I do feel some people think it's fine just to get the stuff from when they miss the bowl cleaned up every year, whether the bathroom needs it or not.

We had to keep a wee-wee pad especially for Toby the older corgi when he was not well enough to be controlled to wait for outside and somehow didn't realize he could tell us when he needed to relieve himself and be taken downstairs. He was very stoic.

Around four o'clock I was awakened by a loud noise, a jolt, and movement - a small earthquake - but we've had slightly bigger ones than this recently that I haven't felt at all, but this one was sudden and it knocked over a little framed picture in the bookcase by the bed. I righted it, went online to see only one report of the little quake (3.1) and then went back to bed.

Oh, my! It's been many years since I've felt an earthquake, and I've only felt one two (or maybe three) times in my life.

I don't remember what car my parents had when I took the test. My mom can only drive an automatic, and I know I learned on one, but after I got my license, I learned how to drive a stick and have only owned manual transmission cars.

Thanks, DR Jane! I'm staying for a week near the Archaeological Museum. My friend is going to show me the sights, but I just wondered if there was something in particular you recommended, such as a vegetarian restaurant. Since I have a reservation for the whole time at one hotel I don't plan on taking any overnight trips. Thanks for the day trip suggestions!

I loved walking the streets during the time they were just starting to get ready for the Olympics. I loved eating on a rooftop at midnight (dinner time) i even liked retsina, which I have always hated (who puts pine in wine?). The antiquities and jetlag kept me busy the four days I was there.
