Thanks, DR Jane! I'm staying for a week near the Archaeological Museum. My friend is going to show me the sights, but I just wondered if there was something in particular you recommended, such as a vegetarian restaurant. Since I have a reservation for the whole time at one hotel I don't plan on taking any overnight trips. Thanks for the day trip suggestions!

It isn't our favorite city. It should be different since you are meeting a local. I do suggest a day trip or two if possible. I can't recall any restaurants to recommend or I would have. I don't even know where I finally found a vegetarian Moussaka to try and I only found it once. On one of the islands (we did a cruise to various island & Croatia) we found a fava bean falafel. Bryan had made this for us when Keith grew our own fava beans. The one in Greece was almost as good, so if you see fava bean falafels I suggest trying them.

Great deal to share a car with someone who didn't drive. Did that mean you had to drive Linda where she wanted to go?

We had a busy day filled with boring phone calls, outdoor work (I helped Keith with trimming some of the bushes outside our patio), a six mile walk (took the scenic route to the market) and playing in the sunshine.

Jane, Simple Truth, a generic from Kroeger, has a bottled balsamic dressing that I plan to try soon. It uses soybean oil instead of canola oil or olive oil, but no artificial sweeteners. I've tried a number of Kroeger generics and have been pleased with all of them. Excellent prices, too. I'll let you know how tasty it is.
