Just remembered I should check on my Fosse/Verdon DVR capture. I was way too beat to watch it last night, but will probably want to tonight.

Someone posted a link to iTunes and the Fosse episode, supposedly available for free there, but I can't seen how.

The Borowitz joke "Trump names Lori Loughlin Education Secretary" is actually too close to being better than who we  actually have.  :)

True. Too true.

I liked Michelle Williams as Gwen but Sam Rockwell was not Bob Fosse.....perhaps he will get better as the series goes along....I hope....but I never imagined Bob Fosse as a sour midget with a permanent lemon puss.....  Right now he isn't even Roy Scheider....

I really enjoyed the food.  The hotel had a huge spread for breakfast.  The scrambled eggs were diced (?) and I think they probably mixed butter in them.  They also had fried eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, beans, spinach or cheese pie, "gratinated" tomatoes.   Even mixed vegetables.  (and bacon and sausage for the meat lovers).  Of course Greek yogurt was featured.  I mixed it with delicious strawberry preserves and put it over bran flakes.     The bread was delicious.  There were several kinds of bread and rolls and those little pretzel-like things covered in sesame seeds.  Lots of other stuff too!

It sounds delicious.

Greetings from Newark International Airport!   I arrived last night and spent the night at an airport hotel.

That really is such a good idea, to switch hotels like that, especially not to have to worry about things like traffic to the airport before a flight.

It is when you can do it.

I had a lot of authentic Greek food also, such as fava spread (made with yellow peas), Greek salad, tomatoes stuffed with rice, of course tzatziki sauce.   Of course I had pasta, but it was different from what I am used to:  noodles with mushrooms and a delicious sauce.  We even had pizza, which was good too.

I wonder why they call it Fava spread when it is made is yellow split peas instead of green Fava beans.  It still sounds good.

We went to three museums, each one fascinating.  The first was the Acropolis Museum.   Many of the floors are made of glass so you can see the ruins below.  It's mind-boggling to read how old some of the artifacts are.

There was too long of a line for this and then I am sorry to say we did not return.  Our friends really wanted to see it.

Just got a message from United Airlines.  My flight is now delayed until 3:25 pm.   At this rate I could have taken a train to the city and seen a matinee.

I hate when that happens, especially when the drive home would have been faster.

The last was the Byzantine and Christian Museum.   In visiting all these museums, I realized how little I know about Ancient Greece, etc.    I never knew, for example, how large the Greek empire was at one time.

When they did that "Grease" revival where all the students looked 35 or more - that's the closest I've gotten (so far) to seeing ancient Grease.

Did I mention finally figuring out why so many people "decided" to do their own returns, or at least try to?  That it was finally seeing that Mnuchin and Trump had sent letters to everyone whom had been under a certain amount of income in 2017 and offered access to totally free and simply worded online software, so it was risk-free to give it a try.  (If I mentioned it on HHW before, sorry about that - but it was a curiosity that they all thought of it, but it now makes total sense.)

If you did I missed it.

Can't remember if I posted this last night, but...

There is a ton of lazy writing here - it's not brain surgery to research stuff - it takes about thirty seconds.  And yet, as a friend wrote: "after an interesting recreation of Gwen giving valuable creative input to filming Big Spender, she's back in NYC telling Bob about lines outside the Ziegfeld... They did have lines outside the Ziegfeld three years later for Cabaret. I was in one. But she's talking about Sweet Charity, which played at the Rivoli. Bob jokes the lines may be there to see The Love Bug. Gwen says the Ziegfeld has only one screen. Okay this was decades before multiplex venues, and The Love Bug didn't open (at the Music Hall I think) until at least a month after Charity opened at the Rivoli."

Sounds like the same sloppy mishandling of easily found detail plaguing the Davis/Crawford thing.

While at the market today we missed an exciting event here.  An otter was on our lawn.  Fortunately our neighbor was home and sent us a video-super cute.

Now I will forever be watching for an otter to come all the way up here from the river.

The river has been rising with the rains.  There must also be snow melt as it appears to have risen about 4 feet since yesterday.  Nothing to worry about, just interesting to see.

I went out an picked another large basketful of loquats today. And you can't tell that I made a dent in the fruit on the tree.

J.B. expects me to peel his, but he does love them and he devours most of the flesh.

I wore a face mask so I wouldn't be out in the pollen. I seem to have survived OK.

It supposedly hit 96 today. It felt good outside though.

I watered the plants. the tomatillos in the ground are doing better than those in pots. I already have three or four large fruit growing on one in the ground. But they all look healthy and content.

I also listened to a little more of Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. I should finish it tomorrow. Fascinating book.

There really was a jazz great named Oscar Holden in Seattle, but the recording in the book is a fiction.

I have to work on the resume again. It seems there is an actual job that was posted and closed. When my friend mentioned me to the HR woman, however, they opened it up again for a day.
