On Easter Sunday, we went to a Methodist church for Easter service, a bit of a change for this Lutheran. (They applaud a lot.)

For Easter dinner, she made fajitas, which had spectacular flavor, as well as a series of vegetables, including roasted tomatoes and peppers, green beans, mushrooms and a salad. I made deviled eggs.

We had too much food for two and proceeded to enjoy as much of it as we could.

Tonight, I watched a fascinating documentary called Tea With the Dames, which features a sit-down with Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Joan Plowright and Eileen Atkins. Great conversation and an amazing series of clips from throughout their careers. I wish some of them were available in full-length as bonuses. I was thrilled to see the beginning of Judi Dench as Sally Bowles singing Don't Tell Mama. But in the movie it's less than a minute long.

I just now learned of a new TV show: MS. FISHER'S MODERN MURDER MYSTERIES. It's a take-off from the Phrynne Fisher mysteries, starring her "niece." It begins on Acorn TV next week. It will be difficult indeed to equal the wonderful chemistry of the original MISS FISHER series. But I will most definitely give it a try.

Would love a review. Meanwhile, the latest season of Brokenwood Mysteries has arrived. I hope to get those started this week.

Tonight was the Fiesta River Parade. The theater where I usher gave us all free seats, which was fun to be with people I like and I'm getting to  know a little better.

The theme was The Movies. There were floats with themes such as Saturday Night Fever, Coco, Sing!, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music and Grease. One was All That Jazz/Chicago. Then there were the Star Wars, Indiana Jones and The Mummy action adventure floats. And a perfect evening weatherwise.

Swing and country, probably two-step. I help a friend teach.

After watching the trailer for the new show I am not overly hopeful.
https://blogs.weta.org/tellyvisions/2019/03/20/ms-fishers-modern-murder-mysteries-arrives-us-april

Jane, neither of the trailers I saw grabbed me, either. The 60s aren't my favorite era. But the show is from the creators of the original show and they've shown that they are very capable.

It's interesting that Acorn has been so quiet about this. I receive several emails from them every week, yet had heard nothing about the movie since the crowdfunding a couple years ago. I'd assumed that it wasn't happening. I'm glad it's a reality and will look forward to it.

I've started watching The Bookshop. I don't love it as I thought I would. I like the cast, but I don't like Patricia Clarkson as a villain.

But here's the real expose that needs to be exposed.  When I go to McDonald's and get the three items that I like, which is my food intake for the day, it now costs over sixteen bucks - sixteen BUCKS for McDonald's - that's just ridiculous and kind of heading into Jerry's Deli territory.  Taco Bell is also not as inexpensive as it was, although I can get out of there for a little under ten bucks.  But the two bargain jernts are Popeye's - two big breasts, two biscuits, total expense $6.11.  THAT is a bargain.  And In N Out is still very reasonable if you get two cheeseburgers - a more than reasonable just over five bucks with tax.  Cheaper than McDonald's Big Mac and much better.

I wonder if it's because the Big Mac is now the dinner of choice at the White House.

Oh, I meant to ask TCB: is your new condo the first property you've owned?
