Wow, DR td, you don't look a day over 30! You remember Greer's lengthy speech?

Judy Holliday won by default. Bette Davis AND Anne Baxter were nominated for ALL ABOUT EVE, and Anne was a Fox baby, so naturally they supported her. Bette was a free lance actress by that time and so was Gloria Swanson. Judy had signed a contract with Columbia, so she had their full backing. Eleanor Parker was the other nominee that year - for CAGED. She undoubtedly finished last in the voting.

My vote would have gone to Judy Holiday. :D

Hi everyone. My favorite was Roberto Bennini

BK, sorry I didn't get to read Benjamin Kritzer on the plane. I sat next to a really cute pilot and talked the whole time... I'll let you know when I read it.

My tv and computer are in different rooms, so I will just have to pop in now and then  :-\

But I loved Laura Linney's gown as well as Virginia Madsen's!! Renee Zellwinger's dress was cute, but her hair! Not a good color!

I did think Halle B's hair looked fabulous...I am used to seeing her with short hair.

And Clive Owen...wow...how have I missed him! I would like to see more of that man!

After a couple of viewings of ON A CLEAR DAY, I'm convinced that I was in the auditorium when Ms. Garson rambled on and on and on and on. . .

Well, I'll be...I missed the big event whilst sitting on my tush watching WANTED: DEAD OF ALIVE...although it was a good episode. I never understood the appeal of Steve McQueen, but after watching a couple of episodes of this show, I can see why he became so popular...he was a mighty fine actor.

It has been a long time since I have seen the show.  You you have a DVD or is it on the great station you get and I don't?

Well, in the humongous cavern that is the Kodak Theater, one has to be loud and forced.

JRand thank you.  It is so good to have our Bogie happy again.

My pick for best actor is still Paul Giamatti.  Kind of takes the fun out of the awards when your pick isn’t even nominated.

Keith has no interest in watching the awards which is fine with me.  I prefer to record them and then speed watch.

They all really are on the stage at one time!  And they're not showing the "losers" at all.  Good thing, too.  I don't know if they would want to be seen.

Folks have been predicting THE AVIATOR will win 5 Oscars tonight, mostly in technical categories. We'll see.

It's one of the changes for this year's broadcast...supposedly to save time.  We'll see. ::)
