I am back from the Y.  I knew the show was going to be good but not that good!

It was really wonderful, and each singer had some glorious moments.  The Act Two Judy-Barbra "Get Happy,"" sung by Ana Gasteyer and Marcy Harriell, kicked the second act into high gear.  It was amazing.  I hope someone considers recording this.  They made some cuts today to bring each act to 60 minutes, but I did miss the Oscar Meyer Wiener song.

Sounds like a wonderful show, Elmore.

Ana Gasteyer was in the film version of the Reefer Madness musical.

Fun night of dancing. And the ballroom was fairly cool this evening. It was much hotter outside afterward.

The new Les Mis mini-series from Masterpiece has come in at the library. I guess I'm going to fall into a few hours of Hugo storytelling by way of Andrew Davies, who can either be brilliant (Daniel Deronda, Pride and Prejudice) or dreadful (A Room with a View, War and Peace).

Elmore, I know you watched this. I can't remember your thoughts on it.

That's where I first saw her.  I think she's amazing.

Elmore, I know you watched this. I can't remember your thoughts on it.

I didn't.  I'm bothered by a black Javert.  I know that in 1830s France that never would have happened, and the BBC's color-blind casting bothers me.  I'm not a racist, I hope, but the disregard for historical accuracy irks me.  I am curious about it since there's so much in the novel that film and musical trivialize or ignore.

We shall see. That doesn't both me so much, if only because this is the umpteenth filming of the tale.If it were the only version, that might be more of a problem. He's not Russell Crowe, so that's a huge plus in my book.

Finished with my viewing, resting my voice, and relaxing.  I dozed off for a few minutes, too.

I got a surprise check from Moonshine and Mistletoe today, so I can purchase four things I desperately need: a vacuum cleaner, new glasses, some clothes, and a pair of shoes.

That's wonderful, Larry!

That had just come out just before I was in a local production.  I loved it!

No.  I don't have any theatrical plans, other than to see or usher or work concessions for shows.

Actually, tomorrow I'm going to see a local production of Go, Dog, Go!  Tomorrow's the last performance and I have several friends in it, so I figured that I'd better see it!

DR TCB, how long was your wait for the new furniture.  Did Nicky go with you?

I waited around six hours.  Oh, God no, I am dreading Nicky’s one car ride next weekend.  He hates to ride in the car.

So does Neve.  Fortunately, the vet is pretty close...just about a mile away. :)

Tonight I watched NEIL DIAMOND; LIVE AT THE GREEK III on PBS.  I think I saw him in concert three, or maybe four, times.  He was a great performer.
