Watching Agnes Varda's feminist musical, One Sings, the Other Doesn't. Interesting scene in which one of the two heroines, named Apple (decades before Ms. Paltrow) is singing topless. Then she puts on a T-shirt that shows her breasts.

The whole premise of the movie is sadly still topical. A school girl helps a friend get an illegal abortion. As the years pass, they go their separate ways but always faced with the same issues having to fight to be treated equally.

BK in the notes:  " I then stopped at McDonald’s and got some food, came home and ate it, and then did some work on the computer, after which I sat on my couch like so much fish."

Unimportant fact:  I never cared for the McDonald's Filet-o-Fish when I was young.

The Filet-O-Fish was my favorite choice for a long time.  I'd get it with slivered onions and extra tartar sauce. ;D

I still like it, but I just don't get it very often anymore.

The neighbor below me, to whom I gave the money for headshots, was Anthony Quinn's dresser on Broadway and tour for Zorba.

That's pretty cool!

Got a funny e-mail from the gal who's doing the Adriana book.  She didn't understand the etc. etc. etc. stuff.  She's in her early twenties.  I explained about The King and I and linked her to a YouTube clip of Yul saying it.

Yes!  It's VERY important to know how to say those etcs!

Sad. But thank you for adding to her education.

Apparently, Yul would just drop "A Puzzlement" when he wasn't feeling up to it.

Maybe she'd seen one of those performances?

:)

There was reportedly a cue for the conductor where he'd just cry out some line about it being a puzzlement.

But he never  held back on "Shall We Dance," also reportedly, so the audience went home OK, since the dropped sing was so early in the show.

I don't know how I'd feel if I saw "Sweet Charity" and Gwen Verdon had dropped a number that night.

I often forget one thing, maybe two. Five is pushing it, sir.

Yup. Tell me. And they were essentials, like garlic and olive oil.

Not essential in this house, especially the garlic.  On the other hand if there is no sour cream or tea ....well I can't even bear to think about it

An unspeakable tragedy.

I did marry a Brit...there are penalties for such actions

I'm about ready to head over to the Y.  Today I caught Thatch grooming Stella, and he loves to go into her cage and check out the space.  I've told him he cannot move in, but he doesn't listen to me.

I got a surprise check from Moonshine and Mistletoe today, so I can purchase four things I desperately need: a vacuum cleaner, new glasses, some clothes, and a pair of shoes.

Had a good stumble-through - a few fumfered lyrics but they'll drill and better today than tomorrow.  I'm not sure how I'm feeling at this point so I'll continue my preventatives and pray.
