I've decided to go see a movie today. I'm very intrigued by Blinded by the Light. Plus, it will be a lot cooler at the theater.

Jean Paul Belmondo just beat up a woman and tied her up, all with a smile on his face, of course.

To answer George’s question from last night:

Yes, I am feeling fine, thank you.

I am happy you are feeling better.

And a very happy MORON DAY to all!

It's a weekly celebration here, too, DR Jrand68. And damn it, you're right, it's hard to pin down in advance which day of the week it's going to be.

But I have to say that BK's description of the crowds and traffic yesterday exceed just about anything I ever experienced in all my years in LA.
Absolutely horrendous.

As to the rats, I believe it's because the "temporary super" who's never here and who sends young immigrants to the building to clean up things on what appears to be his whim, is leaving the outside basement door unlocked and open at all hours of the day.  The landlord is letting this building go to hell.

Our last really good super was Val, and he left because the cheap shits wouldn't even pay him vacation pay.

What a shitty situation for the residents of your building. And of course for good workers like Val who only want to be fairly compensated.
NEWS FLASH:  Y'all's landlord sucks!  :)

Is this something for which a call to 3-1-1 can help get the ball rolling? Is it required (maybe not?) that there be a super or someone else on call to maintain apartment buildings and deal with situations as they arise?

Wow. KISMET. The movie.

Just another one of those believe it or not things, but I haven't watched it either beyond sampling it back when I got the DVD and then the Blu-ray. What have I been waiting for? I always figured it couldn't possibly be a faithful adaptation of the stage show, but given the comments here, it sounds like the greatest grotesque entertainment possible, and I can use something like that right about now. I'm going downstairs right now to take it off the shelf.

I wrote up a li'l review of the Audible version of GEE and sent it through about half an hour ago.

And guess what? It went through and was published on the page in about one minute.

So, WTF? Go figure. Trying to predict how these submissions are going to go is like trying to pin down when the next Moron Day is being held. Anyway, let's see if this link works:

Diana Canova is wonderful!

I've been up for a full rewatch of NUDIE anyway, and this pushes me over the edge. But I also want to see some more of what she's done. I never watched SOAP, which is probably my loss, but I'll seek that out and probably find some other goodies here and there.

One of the bits about her says she has lived, or lives now, in Connecticut and has done work for the theater program at Joel Barlow High School which is just one town away from me. Okay, two towns. Twenty minutes by motor vehicle, for which we have a department. I haven't done anything there, but a fellow keyboardist asked me to cover for him in some show there last year, but I had a conflict. Anyway, I wonder if she's still involved in that.

And now I must get on with my day.

More tracks to record.

And so it goes.  And goes.  And goes.

I've spent the last hour visiting with Ann on the fifth floor.  She and her partner Gen are wonderful ladies.

About "Moron Day" - there's a TV show on New York One, which is called "Onstage."  And the announcer would saying "We'll be back with more Onstage after this message" But the announcement was somehow recorded sounding like "We'll be back with Moron Stage after this message."

Well, I got the call.  I've been cast in [redacted]!  They don't want any announcements on social media until their official announcement, but since we're an onclave and oasis on the Interwebs, I figured that I could at least say that much.

;)

And I was not cast in the play that my friend is directing.  Oh, well.  I'll definitely have fun with the show that I was cast in!

KISMET.....I like how all the men have to duck to get through the doors because they have these little towers on the top of their hats....I finally started to watch for it - that amused me for a lot of the running time.

I like Night of My Nights.....but not much else.

Sounds like it could be a drinking game...everytime someone ducks, you drink! ;D

Stella tried to help me make tuna salad.  It was a disaster.  She and Thatch are now galloping all over the apartment and thankfully out of my hair while I have a tuna sandwich.
