I tried a new pain-killer last night, It worked well until around 1:00, then it was back to hell for me. Around 2, I took a Tizanidine abnd slept rather well until 6:15 when I fed the cats. Around 6:45 I decided to get up and sit in a tub of hot water, so while the tub was filling, I washed their bowls and cleaned the litter. I want to make the bed and relax before I leave for physical therapy around 9:30.

I watched the first part of Ken Burns' new country music documentary last night. My Appalachian Kentucky dad would have loved it. I enjoyed it a lot and I'm looking forward to part 2 next week.

Yesterday was successful (I guess) but brutal. I left the house at 9 am and got back at 11 pm.

As I sat there during book scenes at the piano run-through last night, I seriously wondered why we perpetuate the tradition of cramming so many elements into this one day that we like to call “Tech Sunday”.

All I can say is: I’m still here.

Back in the day, there was a drive-in in Seattle (Burger Master) near the University District. They made the best burgers I ever had. Very messy, but delicious.

I don't know if the place is still there.

DR Elmore, you are correct in thinking this seemed like a short rehearsal period.

With the amount of time it took to cast the show (fortunately, that turned out nearly perfectly) and working around people’s pre-planned summer vacations and whatnot, this thing got a late start.

After they (Island Burger) caught on even further, the product itself seems to have changed, and I wonder if they were using different meat and/or a different meat supplier. (not necessarily downgraded, but different than what I'd loved before). I'm pretty sure it's not that my tastes have changed, but the product just wasn't the same as it was.

Five Napkin Burger (on 9th Avenue) is the most consistently good that I've found these days. With that name, you'd expect their burger to be great, But the really surprising enjoyable dish at Five Napkin Burger has been their matzoh ball soup!

I liked DR FJL's story about Phyllis Newman. When I was growing up, she seemed to be on EVERY television show...the game shows, the variety shows, and the talk shows.

MR BK spoke about the Cd mailers in the notes.....I have to say that whoever is putting the labels on them now is covering up the tear tab so it makes it nearly impossible to open the package.
