Too many people wanted a piece of me, and there weren’t enough pieces to around.

It sounds like your abilities are valued by your co-workers.

Vibes for DR GEORGE.....I don't like it when people who have never done your job decide how you should DO your job.

Thanks, Jrand!  But it's not so much someone else deciding how I should do my job, but someone else thinking they know WHAT I do in my job, which is probably why the outside consulting firm decided to downgrade my job...because they don't have all the information. :P

If the downgrade holds would it reduce your salary?

I gather you were given the reasons your job was downgraded and are able to see what they are missing in their evaluation.

If my position is downgraded (actually, even more...see below), I would be what they call "Y-listed."  I wouldn't lose any pay, but I wouldn't get any increases (C.O.L.A., or anything else) until the top of the new position pay range reaches my current rate of pay.

As for the reasons for my job being downgraded...I was given the opportunity to no longer be a supervisor.  I've never really been comfortable doing that, but the job itself is no problem, so I accepted.  They created a new position that essentially does everything I do now including a few other things that my supervisor doesn't want to do, but I won't be supervising anyone anymore.  But I never saw an actual job description, and I was told (but I never got this in writing) that my new position wouldn't be part of this classification and compensation study.  I made that assumption because me not being a supervisor anymore happened in April, and the class & comp study started last year in August.  So, for the consulting firm to make a recommendation on a newly created position created after the process started, and when I had no input in regards to the information that they used to make the recommendation seems to me that their recommendation to lower it even more is crap. :P

You just expressed some good arguments here.  Continued vibes the downgrade is removed.  I am shocked you didn't have any input into the information they used.  I suppose if their information was correct your input wouldn't have been needed.

Brian just left. He was here longer than usual and got a lot done. He's making a dent in my to-do list. There's still a lot of crap stuff for me to sort through and toss, but that's very time-consuming and I'll be doing it for a while yet.

Yesterday we stopped at See's so I could get a few Café Latté Lollypops.  Sucking on them during takeoff & landing help reduce my plugged ears.  Plugged ears are really bad when I already can't hear well.  While there I sampled a piece of the sugar free dark chocolate & then purchased a bar to try.  I hate the aftertaste of artificial sweeteners except for some of the sugar alcohols.

I may or may not eat that chocolate bar as I now know, while the candy bar state 0 grams of sugar, "Unlike artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols are a kind of carb and can raise blood sugar levels, though not as much as sugar".

The ChocZero chocolates are sweetened with monk fruit extract, so it's not a sugar alcohol.  I don't think I've ever noticed any kind of aftertaste from the products with sugar alcohols that I've had.  My sister uses xylitol and I use erythritol.   And fortunately, I've also not experienced any of the "side effects" of erythritol. ::)

No aftertaste, but did you know it is only better than sugar, not as if you aren't having any at all?

George did you get the new printer that has the easy ink refill?

If not George, who did get one?

DR Ginny, your birthday card was in today's mail.  That's perfect timing.

Thank you so much!

Justin Bridges was the librarian looking after my Miami University collection.  I had hoped to go back last summer and help him with DR Ginny get it in order.  I just now learned that he died on Aug. 2 from colon cancer.  I am in shock.  He was a really good man.  I will miss him.

Oh, I’m sorry to hear this...
