Well, the rains started here. Actually, we're having thunderstorms, and while we didn't get as much as Beaumont and folks east of Houston, we got plenty of rain tonight.

Driving in it was really bad because it was coming down so hard and had no place to go. So, the base of any slight hill was suddenly covered with about two feet of water.

So, I came home and mixed up a little gin with curacao as a reward.

Now I'm watching a Yasujiro Ozu film called The Flavor of Green Tea Over Rice. Like all of his films, I've just fallen into this world and won't come up for air for a couple of hours.

It's the first real substantial rain we've had since the beginning of summer. But it made up for lost time.

Justin Bridges was the librarian looking after my Miami University collection.  I had hoped to go back last summer and help him with DR Ginny get it in order.  I just now learned that he died on Aug. 2 from colon cancer.  I am in shock.  He was a really good man.  I will miss him.

I can't remember the stupid things I did while overly tired.  Super stupid were the things I did that resulted in my serious breaks.
