I was disappointed to see ion google that Helen Twelvetrees was not the star's real name, but it was ‎Helen Marie Jurgens.

TOD:

I used to think Boyd Gaines was my favorite character actor, from when he was giving terrific performances in hit stuff like "Porky's" - but I was reminded that while he may be a character actor to film people, but he was already on his way to being a star in theater.
(He was already on :One Dat at a Time," I think.)

Is Nathan Lane like that, too, for Broadway huge star vs, screen character actor? Maybe Bernadette Peters? Always wonderful on film, where they seemed to be character actors, but you can sell investors based on their involvement on Broadway, and their names make productions happen.

I guess, though it's hard to believe, Kristin Chenoweth was a character actor for years before they pretty much fashioned a role for her in "... Charlie Brown" that was never in the material before.

In "A New Brain" she was in the ensemble, even though IIRC she'd make such an impression in "Steel Pier" already. But I guess actors have to meet those insurance weeks.

And speaking of "Steel Pier,' It was also a surprise (audible to people who traveled from NYC, who ween't sure ether to give entrance applause not having known she was in it)) to see Karen Ziemba suddenly there in a kind of small role in "Little Dancer" in DC - but there it may have been she loves working with Susan Stroman, and who knows - may have just enjoyed doing a show which wasn't riding in her for a change

you wouldn't know that Karen Ziemba was in the show, although lots of star parts before and after it.

BK's friend and co-worker Alice Ripley after so many awards stepped back for a short run to be a character actor in "American Psycho," but of course everyone was delighted to see her when she was onstage briefly.

As soon as they realized the alarm time of 6:15 had slipped by and I was still in bed, all hell broke loose. Thatch sat in the window and and talked - loudly - Stella kicked DVDs off a shelf, and I'm sure Annabelle did something, but she;s too sneaky to be caught. Then one of them tossed things off the window sill, and I figured WTF and they were fed at 6:30, which will be 5:30 tomorrow. I am not happy about this.

I assumed it gave her a chance to be in a show and earn a Broadway salary while taking care of her voice for a while. In the Golden Age her role would have been beefed up like Shirley Booth in "Tree Grows in Brooklyn" or Ben Vereen in :Grind" which shot that show's balance all to hell.

Someone inline thought a lot had changed for small roles (not just in the movies) with Beatrice Straight in a small time in screen in "Network'"winning the Oscar.

Joshie and I decided that I did not need to bring home any My Fair Lady work, so this weekend I must do the following:
1. Laundry!!!
2. Tidy up this dump and vacuum
3. Work on a choral arrangement of an Earl Robinson song

I enjoyed the dancing in 42nd Street last night - but I have been listening to the 1981 Broadway recording so long - that some of the songs seemed a bit off.....and adding that song for Dorothy didn't help because I didn't care for that actress AT ALL.

And because EVERYONE played the show in that over the top wink-to-the-audience style - it was a bit less funny to me.

I am glad George liked the Maggie, I thought she missed a LOT of humor in the part and pushed a bit too hard.....or maybe a LOT too hard....

BUT other than that, I liked it. Signed Mrs. Lincoln

It took the jury 3 hours and 17 minutes to return a verdict last night.....and surprisingly, it was the one I thought was correct:

Guilty of first degree intentional homicide with a deadly weapon.

The defense goons kept up their ridiculous actions right up until the last moment. In Wisconsin, for some reason, the jury is not provided with exhibits for the deliberation, they have to ask for them.

Every time they sent a note asking for something, the defense put up a fight or ask for some stipulation.....the jury asked for the transcripts of the interviews the defendant had with the police and the defense said NO....they have to come into the court room and WATCH the video interviews if they want to hear them.....

The jury said #&%@ it! We have a verdict..... LOL
