All anybody is saying is that, f'rinstance, Amazon's link is no longer there.  Even if you've ordered it, there's no longer a hyperlink to it.  And it's disappeared from several other sites.  I have mine, so I'm not worried, I'm just curious if there was a licensing issue and I now I have something I can sell for thousands at the Bay of Ezekiel.  :)

Hmmmmm To Be or Not to Be, Libeled Lady, Bringing Up Baby, Dinner at Eight are all still available individually at Amazon - but the box set did disappear.  Did the box set have the 2-disc special editions?

Speaking of WB boxed sets, just got an email that there's a big Joan Crawford set coming out in June, including a couple films that have never been released before.

This makes me think that if you haven't gotten your WB Musicals boxed set, you'd better hurry.  :)

I wonder if it was a similar to what happened with the original "special edition" of "Little Shop of Horrors."  Frank Oz had black and white (and maybe silent) footage of the original ending where Audrey II eats everyone and takes over the world.  David Geffen actually owned the rights to it and didn't authorize its release, so he had all the unsold copies pulled.  They sell (or at least sold) for over $100 on Ezekiel Bay.  Maybe there was something in the set that isn't available in an individual disc. ::)

I have that original LSOH DVD.  IIRC (it's been a long time since I've watched it), that original ending does include sound, though it is, as you said, in B&W.

And, yes, the boxed set included the 2 disc special editions.  As does the Musicals Set--that's why they're such a bargain.  You're getting all the films, which retail individually for between $19.95 and $26.95, for a total of around $40.00!!

Hmmmmmm....general consensus is what you said.  Problems with rights to TO BE OR NOT TO BE....which might be a problem with Mel Brooks since he remade the movie.  Wouldn't he own some kind of rights to the original in order to remake it?

Vixmom, one of the worst concerts we ever saw was Tony Bennett in the early seventies or late sixties.  Not only was he bad he wouldn’t leave the stage.  People just began walking out on him.

Thanks for asking but unfortunately the renovation don’t go.  It is very frustrating.  We ripped out a few cabinets from a side wall in the kitchen and realized we should have done so years ago.  The kitchen already looks much better.  Maybe we won’t gut the rest of it now.  We shall see.  I have no idea when the floor guy will be here to extend the hardwood floors in the powder room and another area we removed cabinets that held the stereo equipments, CD’s, albums and other assorted stuff.

MBarnum what is the cost of the flight from Portland to LAX?  Is $200 round trip?

Great news about Jeffrey, yet sad.

JMK you are so lucky to have seen Billy Joel in an intimate atmosphere.
Is that $99 round trip?  Bryan wants to go to a convention in LA in May.

Jose, so half a day in Williams-Sonoma and half a day for the rest of our NY walking tour when we meet? :D

DRLaura I wasn’t aware you could wear out a camera so quickly. ;D

Ben I haven’t seen the California quarter yet.  It has become more and more difficult to get the states quarters.  I will do my best to get you one.

I've been buying them through the U.S. Mint and getting the "proof" quarter yearly sets.  They're pretty cool!  And I have the whole set...so far.  After this year, there will only be three more years to go.

I work with a woman (Liane) who had been collecting coins with her late husband for quite a few years.  As soon as we each find out about the quarters, we let each other know.  The quarters are the only coins that I collect, but Liane gets a lot more.

I forgot-

It was another super busy day.  I didn’t even have time for a walk on this magnificent day we had.  Rain is expected tomorrow.

Bruce I hope the signing was a success.

Sounds like the same guy who is supposed to do bk's floor for the past three months!

Maybe that's his problem, he's stretched  too thin trying to cover the entire west coast!   :D

Tonight is DH's gaming night out, so the Vixter & I watched the Incredibles.  We loved it in the theatere and it was just as much fun the second time around.

The deleted scenes section on disc wo would have been a lot better if they just showed the scenes without the director/writer whatever he was babbling on and on and on....the Vixter actually called out to the TV at one point 'Enough already! Just show the clip!"

The local PBS station is showing some sort of 1960's or 70's rock thing, (the tv is in the other room and I can't see it from here) but they were just playing  "Bad Moon on the Rise"

I haven't heard that song for years but immediately the lyrics came back as sung on the school bus lo those many years ago...

"Don't out tonight , without a flush tonight, there's a bathroom on the right...."

A toast from The Lovely Wife & me to all the New York Party-folk!

DRPogue, great photo!  Quite a festive and attractive couple.  You should have followed Mr Kimmel east and joined us.

I'm back from our lovely dinner after the WRITER'S BLOCK event, which I heard went splendidly, but I'll let Dear Friend BK give a full report since I wasn't there.  I met DRGinny, her niece, and her niece's boyfriend at Joe Allen's, and then the large group from the reading arrived:  BK our Pied Piper, his assistant Jonathan, two singers from the event (I forget their names!), Richard Valley and Tom Amorosi of SCARLET STREET, DRs Michael Shayne, Danise, Panni, W F Orr and Joe, Rodzinski, and Ben.  I believe a glad time was had by one and all.  More to follow.

Oh and Larry's here too! Did you get a chance to get any rest today?

DRvixmom, alas, I did not.  I came home, lay down, but I generally cannot nap during the day.  It was nice to put my feet up for an hour or so.  The visit to Joe allen's was quite enervating, and I'll crash in a few moments.
