GIBBERISH!

I think I had a nice night's sleep, although it seemed like was waking up every time I got into a different position.  I thought it was later than it was, when I finally got out of bed, but it was only nine-thirty.  Still, that gave me my eight hours and that's fine.

Meeting T. Walton at eleven - he's coming here, thankfully.  Then I'll have to shave and shower and get ready, because I'll be going directly from rehearsing to The Drama Bookshop.

Looking forward to seeing a few of you there, and looking forward to PennyO's show and seeing folks there.  And looking forward to Angus McIndoe after that.  I think it's going to be FASCINATING, the get-together at Angus McIndoe and I shall be taking it all in, oh, yes, I shall be taking it all in.

New York is now officially the "happening" place since soon a quorum of the HHW's will be there!  How exciting for you all!

Yes we look forward to all the photos from DR's of the reading and the show!

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? sounds like a fine choice - since THE GLASS MENAGERIE seems to have gone awry!

DR JOSE you are now officially not within walking distance of anything interesting.  Unless you want to walk about 10 miles.  You are even further from Clowes - I am assuming they bus the company to performances.

Lots of pricey restaurants and the Fashion Mall which USED to be the place where the BEST people shopped.  Now they go downtown - to pay outrageous prices for shoddy goods.

I am not too familiar with the northeast side of town - never go up there.  Maybe someone else can give you some guidance.

Good Morning!

Just getting in gear for the day ahead.  I do want to get my hairs cut sometime in the next few hours, so...  And then BK's reading and signing, and then the show.

Sounds like a day to me.

After two days of horrendous winter weather (we had some sleet yesterday), early spring as returned to Charlotte. We have a beautiful, cloudless sky, and highs expected to be in the mid 50s today. Quite a change from the cold gray skies and rain of the last two days.

Now you tell me!!!

;)

Well, we had two choices, and I picked the more appealing one.  Ah, well...

However, there is a quote from the manager of the place stating that this is "the best place to stay in town", "everything you could ever need is nearby".  We shall see.

And, yes, they will be bussing and vanning us to and from the theatre.  -Although, I'm also thinking of getting rental car if I can get a good rate.

FASCINATING, huh? Well, if ya ask me that's just GIBBERISH

Two words in one day.

He said he would. In yesterday's posting.

Virginia Woolf is on the TKTS board as well so I think it would be easy to get a ticket.

SPAMALOT did not get the absolute fall down dead raves that people were expecting. It certainly got some very good reviews but the battle lines seem to be more evenly drawn now between Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Spamalot. The only real rave that I read was from Clive Barnes in the New York Post. Here is the link if you feel so inclined.

http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/41216.htm

The link to the Newsday review:

http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/stage/ny-etlede4178133mar18,0,5028046.story?coll=nyc-theater-bottom-promo

The link to the Daily News review:

http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/theater/story/290882p-248991c.html

Since you have to register with the NY Times to read anything I won't post the link to their review. Suffice it to say that Ben Brantley liked it very much but acknowledged that it comes with a built in audience who will probably find the show much funnier than the general public off the streets.

Awaiting the arrival of Mr. W.

Yes, it will be FASCINATING watching all the dynamics at our partay.  And you shall hear all about them, in loving detail, right here at haineshisway.com.  I shall nold nothing back, and I shall also hold nothing back.  Nold?  I like that word.  Nold.  I shall ascribe to it a meaning one of these fine days, although I feel certain words are good enough not to have meanings attached to them.

GIBBERISH!

Well, I wish both shows (SPAMALOT and DRS) much success. I think there should be room on Broadway for two new musical comedies.

I must admit that while I am a big Monty Python fan, I was not blown away by HOLY GRAIL the first time I saw it. I thought there were lots of dead places between the inspired sequences. It has been a film that has increased in fondness for me on each re-visit. Now, LIFE OF BRIAN I found brilliant from Day One.

Yes, there is palpable excitement in the air as HHW folks descend on this fair, sunny city. It would be cool to have footage of each HHW person as they come off their plane, out of their cab, etc. We could beam this footage live over the net to those at home in the rest of the country.

And where do you go in Chelsea to get your hairs cut? My barber is in Chelsea also although I doubt that we go to the same place. I go to a place on 7th Avenue between 21st & 22nd Streets and Yuri cuts my hairs.

You mention Nick and Graham in some of your posts, Jose. Is this the same Nick who has been cast as Hero in Mill Mountain's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum? Inquiring minds want to know (so does Anthony).

Re:  Boatniks at Peepworld.  Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe that is the new attraction coming to California Adventure in Spring 2006!!

TOD:  DVD player--The Band Wagon which, I'm loathe to admit, I've never seen.  Shame, shame.

However, I have been madly watching MGM/UA DVDs in order to mail them back by March 31.  Here is some news from the Arbitration staff itself:  this suit is NOT only about the inserts.  Evidently many titles were framed incorrectly--full frame films (like the 1940 Thief of Bagdad) got released in widescreen, and films labelled as widescreen on the boxes got released in full screen.  And, most importantly, you do NOT need to return the cases--just the DVDs themselves, so if you are springing for postage yourself (as I am) in order to get delivery confirmation, it's going to be cheap to mail them via Media Mail.  You must have them in the mail by March 31.

Guilty MGM/UA DVD pleasure--I must admit that I actually enjoyed The Abominable Dr. Phibes.  I'm not quite sure what that says about me.
