There is no shame in enjoying PHIBES. It makes a great double bill with THEATRE OF BLOOD, to me one of the best dark comedies.

THEATRE OF BLOOD was directed by my late pal, Douglas Hickox. Douggie also directed my HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. In casting that film, there had been some discussion of casting Vincent Price as Dr. Mortimer, the part that eventally Denholm Elliott played.

The National Theatre in Britain is doing a musical version of Theatre of Blood this season. I think Jim Broadbent is starring.
