Larry, did you meet Lear DeBessonet on any of her previous projects?  Seriously, I find what they're trying with 'Thoroughly Modern  Millie" so interesting given especially where Jeanine's career has gone,  "Millie" is going to go on  be performed a lot.

If I'm reading the idea right  - making Millie herself Asian-American sounds like it may solve a lot, having a good representation of the ethnicity whose negative char cares have been raised by some as an issue.

Earlier in the summer, my niece found a kitten a few weeks old hanging around her garage.  After a few days she brought it inside the garage and began feeding it and made a blanket bed for her.

Kitty always avoided her....but always ate and used the litter box...

Last month, Kitty came to live with my sister who has a Manx cat named Puddin'.  Kitty lived in her cage for awhile....has been to the vet a couple of times.

And now she is a member of the household.  She and Puddin' eat each other's food chase each other around and lie together in the window.

Kitty's name is now Pixie Lou.  I have one picture of them playing a game that my sister sent me on my phone.....so I shall try to post it here today....Pixie is a brindle/calico.

Awww.

I have a working radiator.  The super was actually very good about it.  I saw him at 9:00, and he said he would check the boiler.  He just came up to tell I should be okay, and yes, the radiator is on.

George as scotch ages it becomes smoother and richer in flavor.  Between 12 & 18 years there is a slight difference, enough that I am aware of it.  There is also a jump in the price.  The real question is if it is worth the jump.  Keith, who does not drink it, says it is not ;D

I have never met her, and I don't think I would even recognize her if our paths crossed.

SR Ginny, I had never heard the word Chicagoland before!  I wish them great success with the work and selling the house.  I wish our damned property would sell.

In July 1985, when I moved from Redondo Beach to Chicago where I was to live and work for the next year and half, I thought Chicagoland was the silliest thing I'd ever heard. I think it took but a couple of months of seeing and hearing it used by the locals and on the news every night and whatnot, before I found myself not only embracing it but loving how it deliberately encompassed the suburbs and surrounding towns. It actually had, you know, "meaning".

And that probably sounds just as silly as the name had sounded to me, but -- perhaps like Chicago hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches and deep dish pizza and other things unique to the area -- you had to be there.

Living there you used the expression.   I can't recall Bryan or Kate saying Chicagoland.

Two years ago today I went to an adoption event at the 92nd Street Petco, looking for a little brother for Annabelle. I wanted a cat with white in his coat because I had stepped or tripped over Annabelle in the dark on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and there he was, this little 3-month old creamsicle of a kitten. I was smitten; Cupid's arrow never pierced a heart with such alacrity.

Four days later, Thatch moved in, and after several rocky months he decided he liked it here.  You are my sunshine, Thatch!

Thank you, all, for the kind comments about Rob and Mary Linda's move to Chicagoland.  It would actually be incorrect to say they're moving to Chicago, because their jobs will be in Glendale Heights and they're focusing their home search in Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, and Elmhurst - all west of O'Hare and not even in Cook County.  The only advice I've given them is to live somewhere that will be convenient to taking the train into the city.

I lived in Schaumburg and was familiar with all those places. It’s a wonderful region, and yes to being near a train.

My job was in West Chicago so I had a 30-minute-long but nice clear “reverse” commute by car.

Elmore, which show was it that your friend was going to be touring in?

I hope it wasn't Anastasia, which just left town.

Fiddler on the Roof.  My friend John Bell will be conducting the tour of My Fair Lady.  It just began rehearsals.

I found my When Harry Met Sally soundtrack.  I'm going to bring it to work and listen to it there.

I'm listening to it right now.  It's still good.  It's also hard to believe that Harry Connick, Jr., was only 21 when he recorded this!

I stopped down to our new super's apartment to tell him I'm getting no heat, and his wife told me he was still in bed and started work at 9:00!

Our previous super and Val before him were already working by 7:30!

Yikes!  I always thought that a super was essentially on call...whenever something is needed, no matter when. :-\
