I wanted a cat with white in his coat because I had stepped or tripped over Annabelle in the dark on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and there he was, this little 3-month old creamsicle of a kitten. I was smitten; Cupid's arrow never pierced a heart with such alacrity.Four days later, Thatch moved in, and after several rocky months he decided he liked it here. You are my sunshine, Thatch!Happy Thachiversary, Larry!!

You never know with Amazon - one day it's USPS, the next it's UPS, then Amazon delivery.

I just had a strange experience. Things haven't been going well all day, but thankfully they've been minor, rather than major, problems.I have an auto-ship order with Amazon. Among the items is a case of bottled water. Granted, it's heavy. Sometimes the delivery person brings it up to my door, other times he leaves it at the base of the stairs. Today I received an email from Amazon saying that delivery had been "attempted." Attempted? I was here, and they usually leave it anyway. Delivery was in the hands of USPS, not Amazon. Uh-oh. I heard the mail carrier this afternoon and asked her if she knew anything about my package. She said she couldn't deliver it because it was too heavy and that I needed to take this slip she just put in my mailbox and go to the PO and pick it up. I explained that I can't do that. She said, "Don't you have a male who can do it?" (I find that quite funny, actually.) I said I'd call Amazon. She didn't see any point in that.I spoke to Amazon. The rep understood my point: Amazon is supposed to deliver my order. He then called the USPS, where a very polite, but VERY slow man took my information (repeatedly) for 33 minutes. I am told the package will be delivered tomorrow. We'll see.
I hadn't realized that Amazon still gives some packages to the USPS for delivery; I thought everything came via Amazon truck. I'm wondering if the mail carrier just didn't want to be bothered. I wouldn't blame her, but delivery means DELIVERY, not pick-up.
Quote from: Jane on November 04, 2019, 07:10:06 AMGeorge as scotch ages it becomes smoother and richer in flavor. Between 12 & 18 years there is a slight difference, enough that I am aware of it. There is also a jump in the price. The real question is if it is worth the jump. Keith, who does not drink it, says it is not Thanks for the info, Jane. I don't think that I'll be partaking of the scotch anytime soon.
