DR elmore too many friends lost, and in such a short time frame :(

I didn't know all of the Chorus members who died, but I also lost friends outside the Chorus: actors, musicians, agents, directors, publicists, teachers.  It felt as if there wasn't a day that passed without hearing someone was sick or dead.

The weather forecast is showing we should expect to see 1-2 inches of the white stuff here

There’s freezing rain in the Buffalo area.  Lots of cancellations.

DR Elmore, that's quite the number of ghosts standing behind you.

Condolences, and thank you for posting of it.

I know that we who never lived in NYC can't even imagine the real day-to-day impact.

The forecasts are still fluctuating as to what this area will end up with. As so often happens, we're right in the zone of uncertainty between one thing and another. I do think we'll end up with a smaller total amount of snow 'n crap than they were saying last night. I'm just hoping for it to be easily cleaned up, because nothing that hits the ground will be going away any time soon, and if it stays slick it'll be pretty awful.

It’s sleeting here, I’ve cancelled my afternoon plans after watching a few cars slip sliding away down the street

I can only imagine have devastating & scary it was to experience that.  Of course the loss is still with you.  I am grateful treatments were found.

I think some sleet or freezing rain came down first, and now there's a light snow coming down on top of it.

Yes, we really needed an icy layer on the bottom, thank you very much.

I've been lying in bed, accompanied by Stella, Annabelle, and Thatch, reading the Cole Porter letters while they napped beside me.  The authors research still bugs me: their notes on The Guardsman, when Cole Porter turns down a musical version, mention the film made by Lunt and Fontanne, but omit the fact that it was a play by Ferenc Molnar and the Nelson Eddy film The Chocolate Soldier.  I think their research is pathetic, but I enjoy the letters.  Porter comes off as a very kind and generous man.

Sunday evening greetings!  We are home after a nice visit in Illinois with my niece who lives there and her parents (my sister and brother-in-law).  We were joined for our Thanksgiving feast by Laura's good friends Larry and Sue.

On Friday, Laura took her Mom and me to the Beer Nuts factory store.  We then picked up Sue and proceeded to a paper crafting store in Washington, Illinois.  After we dropped Sue at her home we returned to Laura's and spent the rest of the day in her crafting studio.  Had Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner and then watched Kinky Boots.
