I’m sure it’ll arrive after I leave for the concert.

I hope to finish Find Me tomorrow, too. The book is pure passion, the prose equivalent of Take the Moment, one of Richard Rodgers’ most passionate melodies and all about happily ever now. Swoon.

I had to run some errands today, including a visit to the optometrist. I haven't been looking forward to this. I had a pair of computer glasses made recently. I was really looking forward to them after a friend raved about the blue light coating. Big disappointment. I could see no better with the new glasses than with no glasses. Not at all.

Topic of the Day:  Donna Summer.  I had a lot of her records and loved her. :)

The optometrist was in a very good mood today and was very nice about it. She changed her Rx by half a diopter, which is quite a bit. We'll see if that fixes it.

I've now had two pair of glasses made there and there has been a problem both times. Back when I was a high minus (extremely near-sighted) getting new glasses was always an ordeal because I was so hard to fit. But I'm only slightly near-sighted now and don't understand why there are still difficulties.

I've started looking for a new optometrist. The list of providers covered by my insurance is lengthy, but when you sort by those in my area it's rather sparse. I found someone down the street from my current optometrist with excellent reviews. I'd like to give him a try.

When I lived in Alexandria there was an optical shop nearby who were outstanding. ALL the staff were licensed opticians. Here it's difficult to find knowledgable staff. I've been shocked at how little some of them know. One didn't understand how a progressive lens works. Sigh. I'll keep looking.

On Tuesday I had a dental cleaning. My hygienist and I had a chance to chat a bit. She mentioned that she's a patient with UCLA and that she's very unhappy with them. I was very unhappy with them during the 3 years I was a patient there, but her problem is quite different. She went in for a physical. They asked if she had any questions for the doctor and she said yes. When she received the bill she was shocked to find that they'd billed her $420 for the physical and another $400 for a second visit that same day--because she had a question!! I am totally appalled. She inquired and was told that that's how UCLA bills. Plus, her physical was covered by her insurance, but UCLA neglected to factor that in. GAWD!

Unfortunately, none of the political discussions regarding changes to health care mention improving the quality. I suspect that's a real hot button.

I didn't think they would help you see better.  I thought they reduced eye strain, redness, and maybe one would sleep better.  Did you have any of those improvements?

At our last check ups we noticed charges included for additional discussions with our doctors.  Mine I suppose was legit while Keith's was a joke.  The charges were no where near that amount & basically covered with our insurance.
