Back from Corky's - exactly as I predicted - jammed - I think we got the last booth.  I would also say that 90% of the people there had never stepped foot inside the place before - the manager agreed.  Because of these idiots, they were actually out of Diet Coke.  My usual sandwich was great, as it usually is.  I also noticed that they were completely out of pies.  I also noted that one table of especially irritating non-Corky's regulars had all ordered the broasted chicken.

Then I picked up some packages, including some Warner Bros. DGA screeners, the only one of interest to me being the Clint Eastwood movie.  It Part 2 is not of interest, nor is Just Mercy.

I was going to ask how DR ELMORE really feels about the guy - until I read his second post on the subject.

For some reason NEITHER of my photo editing softwares would open today.....crazy.

So I was looking for another one....a free one, since I had paid for the other two.....it took me a couple of tries.  I just needed something to do some cropping....whew!

I ended up with inPixio which seems as if it will do the trick.

I watched the new AEW show last night.  It's more entertaining that WWE - but that's not saying much....

My brother and I loved wrestling on TV when we were little....but it ain't the same animal now.

We grew up saying “the hot water heater”.

And then there’s “ATM machine”.

Also, a wonderfully filthy dirty one I can’t post on a nice family site.  ;)

I don't get the issue with "the" in front of hot water heater ;D

I simply say ATM.

I suspect I don't say the 3rd one ;) ;D

The issue isn't "the". The issue is: the water heater is for heating cold water, not hot water.

:))

We are waiting for the rain to stop before going for a walk.  With luck it will stop & stay stopped because we are still going for a walk.

It's really raining here in Tumwater...finally! ;D

I guess the rain went up to you.  We even had a some sun during part of our walk.

So far I have only read 116 books this year.  A good number of them were published in 2019.  I will name a few of those.

Only 116 books?? ??? I've finished all of 14!

Only for me.  I used to read at least 150 a year.  The last few years I have read fewer books, and some of these books where short.

My guess is RACHEL and MAGIC CASTLE.

I am glad you guessed as I originally responded with a book off of DR Chas list, Beloved. After I corrected the book it is good I thought to remove by comment I had read booth books the year they were published.

I must compliment BK. I so enjoyed listening to THIS CHRISTMAS (the CD) yesterday that I had to listen to it again today. A wonderful CD.

I see that Vixmom, the bargain queen, has been at it again. I'm jealous! (Admittedly, I bought  a number of things for myself this season--too many bargains to pass up! But not quite the deals Vixmom got.)

On Monday, DR JRanmd69 posted this:
Mercury in Sag and a few other happenings point to career boosts and job offers coming along on Thursday December 12 - FULL MOON.

Just before I read this, I had received an email from a former employer inviting me to an event this evening, and I accepted.  I am very happy about this, and I am also curious about why this has occurred.  I'm saying no more about this now, but I hope to have a fuller report tomorrow.

Awaitng good news from you...

The cats have an hour before dinner, but every time I walk into the room they run to their scratching posts to sharpen their claws for dinner.

I can't face their constant disappointment!

The cats sharpen their claws before dinner? Do you make them open the cans?

Do you know why they're closing? Rent increase? Retiring?

I picked up my newly revised computer glasses today and am trying them out now. It's a little difficult to really test drive them properly as there's a problem with my right eye that the glasses are unable to address. The ophthalmologist must do that. (Long wait for an appointment.) And then the floaters get in the way, too. sigh. But so far text does seem to be clearer and sharper--vice the first pair where there was zero improvement. Call me old-fashioned, but I feel you should be able to see better with new glasses than without them.

As for the blue-light coating, I was wondering if there's a way to tell if the lab even put it on. Yes. Looking in the bathroom mirror I could see a faint blue or violet tinge to the upper part of the lens. I remember when I first had anti-reflective glare coating added to my glasses people would often ask if I was wearing eye shadow. (I never wear eye shadow.) This is similar.

Has anyone here tried the blue-light coating or known anyone who has? I'm interested in others' experiences. It'll probably be a couple weeks until I can really say if I see a difference, but my friend in Hawaii LOVES it.

I then stopped at the little Mexican restaurant run by Armenians. It was 2 pm and the place was empty. I ordered enchiladas to go, mailed some letters, and was on my way.

Vixmom, I'm glad you were able to get your papers signed by that pig. I hope you can now close that door and savor the new office and your new boss. The holiday dinner sounds very nice, too. You'll have to give us a thorough report.

DR Jeanne I agree you should see better with new glasses.  I also know the frustration of that not happening.  Good vibes  getting your eye problem fixed.  Is this the surgery in January?

No.  I am intrigued by it and hope it works for you.
