We are under a winter advisory here that includes snow, sleet and freezing rain from about 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. tomorrow.....when everything turns to rain.....

Yesterday my brother Kent called and asked if I had an extra keyboard....which I did.

My uncle who had bought a computer from me - that I had bought my sister, but that she couldn't use - about ten years ago, had finally decided he wanted to set it up and use it.

He has been playing solitaire on it all this time.

About fifteen minutes after he left, my brother called me and said that they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.....I talked him through a couple of things....and then finally said....

To hell with it - I'll be over in five minutes.

The computer of course has the VISTA operating system, which Windows no longer updates or accepts questions about.

I downloaded the latest Google Chrome and it works like a dream.

I showed him how to use it - but he is not sure.....he wants to buy a laptop so he will have a book on how to use the internet....I told him he could find all that he needed online, but he might want to buy a laptop to get a NEW operating system.

I also downloaded a free virus software, but it's not a very good one. He has AT&T, so I may go over next week and download their free Norton type software.....
