Incidentally, watching the movie, I noticed my very first publicity client playing a small, un-credited role.

His name was Charles Wagenheim, and he played the telegraph clerk.

Probably Charles' best remembered role was in Alfred Hitchcock's FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT.  He played the Assassin in that one

Years after I represented him, Charles was murdered by a burglar who broke into his home.

Sad story.

I love the windmill scene in Foreign Correspondent. Was that the scene with the assassin?

Well, here's a first, in the ongoing saga of the not-so-fresh pages.

I opened up the notes on the iPad this morning, and all was good.
A little little I went to the notes on the iPhone, and found myself on (wait for it...) EXPERIMENT ONE, March 19th.
And just now on the computer, I went to the notes and found myself on DISCOVERING A CLASSIC, March 31st.

BK is eating eggs in tortillas. This meets with my approval.

All these years I never tried doing that at home, but I finally did so a few weeks ago when I was on one of my quesadilla binges and had large flour tortillas and a few other ingredients in the house. Here's what I came up with:

I scrambled two eggs. When almost done, I added a not-too-thick, not-too-thin layer of "Mexican blend" grated cheese on top and let it begin melting. In the meantime, I'd heated two of the tortillas on a flat griddle (any large pan will do).

(They only need to be heated for a minute or so, don't burn or crust them. This just helps to keep the final result warmer and tastier. You could consider it optional.)

I transferred half the eggs & cheese to the center of each tortilla, and added a bit of diced green chiles (the cheap and easy small can variety), a few bits of diced green onion, and folded the tortillas burrito-style. Oh my god, were those delicious. Real breakfast burritos, and they only lacked:  MEAT.  :)

Note to self:  MEAT.

But I really need to stock up on all of those ingredients now.

One time, in lieu of the green chiles, I just added a little salsa verde. Don't drown it, add just "enough" for flavor. Incredibly delicious. You could also go the way of a red salsa, but I liked that green so much I'm sticking with it.

It's funny about PEYTON PLACE. Amazingly, for the era and cinematic style in which it was made, it "misses".

I always expected something a great deal more edgy from it. Maybe the "shocking/scandalous" (oh my!) original novel didn't get translated very faithfully to the screen, or maybe the story just aged quickly. But I never read the novel, and I've never succeeded in getting through the entire movie. And I probably never saw any of the TV series.

Breakfast tacos are available throughout south Texas. Bacon snd egg, sausage and egg, machacado (a dried beef) and egg, refried beans and cheese, you name it. Anything you can wrap in a tortilla.

My favorites are a bone-in pork chop wrapped in a corn tortilla (messy, but beautiful) and guacamole or mashed avocado in a hot corn tortilla. On Friday, one place smokes amazing brisket, which is heavenly in a flour tortilla.

I have a ripped DVD of the Irene Dunn Show Boat that BK wrote about. It really is amazing. And the song additions, especially Galavantin’ Around and I Still Suits Me, are joys.

One of my MIL's caregivers has symptoms and has been tested. We haven't heard the results yet. MIL lives in The Home in Indiana.

Prayers and oceans of healing vibes.

Lots of vibes!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Peyton Place the novel is a good read.....if you like that kind of thing.....which I do.

I like the movie - especially when compared to Return to Peyton Place (except for Mary Astor).....

I liked the first couple of seasons of the TV series....and have some of the DVD's.....but didn't stick with it for the entire five years....

The TV series never showed a rerun.....it was original episodes from beginning to end - even through the summer.  In case you ever wondered.

Tom, I’m not able to make potato salad. I never have potatoes around. I’m not supposed to be eating them.

Do you ever eat sweet potatoes as a treat?

My friend Ric who is one year younger than I has tested positive for COVID-19.

He and Shelly his wife are now quarantined for two weeks.

They are fellow board members at PCPH and I have done many, many shows with them both.  Ric is a retired school teacher and Shelly runs the Putnam County Crisis Pregnancy Center.....

So far no other personal friends of mine have been diagnosed.....

Vibes he recovers without a trip to the hospital.

It wouldn’t be a treat. I don’t dislike them, but they’re a little too sweet for my tastes.

I have been eating more sweet potatoes than russet.  Lately I have been bad about my diet.

It's a good question, and one that I asked myself. It's not impossible, but it seems unlikely.

Main thing, though, is that in all of these past years, it was never an issue. This only started for a few of us... when was it, a few months ago? And it's hardly a life changer, it's easy enough to refresh the page - at least for me. I think a couple of people did report an issue with that. I just found today's instance really weird.
