I started watching THE WOMEN last night and was impressed by the pacing of the opening sequence. Unfortunately, even though I had felt wide awake and rarin' to go, do you know what happens when you start watching a movie late at night from a distinctly horizontal position on your bed? The answer is not hard to figure out. I think I lasted about fifteen minutes. And you know what? I'd never even thought to set the DVR for it. So...

Some other time!

See, I'll bet no one here even knew about that damned law concerning the consumption of quesadillas.

I've felt safe so far because I haven't yet detected any of Them watching my house. And indeed, why should they suspect me? ME? Nevertheless, one must remain vigilant.

I am finishing up my chicken pasta salad, and weather wise it is supposed to be the best day of the week today. I may make chili tomorrow or Saturday.....

I put on my gloves and mask and went to the post office to purchase some stamps.....only one person ahead of me....a woman my age with NO mask or gloves.....and one person behind me - ibid....

Then I traveled down - well around since the town square is still closed because of the tornado damage two weeks ago - to the Pet Supplies Plus store......

I like to get Conrad Birdie Barnum's seed there because I can buy two kinds of seed in bulk and mix them for him....

No one else in mask.....but the clerk did have on gloves.....

Wednesday morning greetings!

TOD - my own cooking. I've been pretty vocal over the last few years that I'd be happy never to cook another meal, but it was plain to me on March 12 that I'd have a renewed responsibility in that area of our lives. So far, it hasn't been bad, but I do have to say I really miss going to a restaurant had having someone bring me a meal I didn't have to think up, shop for, prepare, and clean up after.

One of my strategies is to cook something that will yield leftovers that can be frozen. Right now, there's half of a cooked pork roast in our freezer. We enjoyed the first half as a meal and as sliced pork barbecue and, eventually, I'll thaw what's left and figure out something to do with it. Today, we'll finish up the meat loaf I made on Sunday. We also try to order from a local restaurant at least once a week, so that may be coming up tomorrow or Friday.

Yes, I placed an order last week and this morning received the email notification that my stamps have been shipped. After my experience in our local bakery a couple of weeks ago, I really don't have any desire to go into the post office.

Here's something from the email I received:

"All stamp and philatelic orders are charged a $1.30 Handling Fee on domestic orders of up to $50.00, and $1.80 if the order is greater than $50. These fixed handling fees apply to only the portion of the order total that is stamp and philatelic products."

Worth every penny, in my opinion...

Bryan can't find yeast & I have 3 packets. I put them in an envelope to mail today. I hope I don't regret putting them in a padded envelope. If I did that I would need to go to the post office.
